The Lives of Birds

28th October - 15th november. nenagh arts centre. adm: Free

Lynn Kenny is based in Killaloe, East Clare, and has been practising as an artist for 16 years since graduating from The National College of Art and Design in Fine Art Embroidery in 1996. With an interest in the humour and character that comes from humanising animals, her method of work allows her to illustrate these characters in a unique way. The playfulness in her work usually brings a smile or a laugh through the image itself or the titles, which regularly have double meanings. The birds in ‘The Lives of Birds’ have become motifs representing various stages in our lives or people in our lives. Lynn has devised her own unique signature technique of working with materials which combines her love of stitch, fabrics, paint and recycled papers. She uses stitch to draw, combine, embellish and attach various materials together to create interesting images. www.lynnkenny.com
