The Knight Time Dance Team (KTDT), coached by Kathleen M. Fictum, is an exciting NEW program open to all middle school students in the greater Nicolet community! The goal of the team is to offer middle school students the opportunity to participate in the sport of dance prior to beginning their High School career, while being apart of an elite group of athletes, working together to support their community and the arts! Knight Time Dancers will perform pom, jazz and hip-hop dance routines at local middle school basketball games and Varsity Nicolet Basketball games during the months of January & February, with an opportunity to attend dance competitions in February/March. Whether you’re a middle-schooler looking to have fun, continue a professional dance career or are an 8th grader planning on trying out for the NHS Varsity dance team, everyone will feel at home with KTDT! (NHS Varsity Tryouts will be held April 16th & 18th, 2013). *Each dancer is responsible for providing their own tan jazz shoes & skin colored dance tights. Dancers should have them by Jan. 7th. You may order through the coach prior to Dec. 20th, 2012. Parent meeting on January 5th at 9:30am in the Nicolet High School - Room B112 (room adjacent to the cafeteria). Knights Junior Dance Team
The Knights Junior Dance Team, coached by Kathleen M. Fictum, is continuing it’s momentum and offering its first winter session! The team is open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students in the greater Nicolet community! The goal of the team is to offer elementary school students the opportunity to learn and perform dance basics in a team setting. Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop technique fundamentals will be taught using proper dance instruction standards and etiquette. In this fun and educational program students will build self confidence, learn life-long leadership skills and experience working together as a family unit! Knight Junior Dancers will perform dance routines at 2-3 Varsity Nicolet Basketball games during the months of January & February, with an opportunity to attend dance competitions in February/March. Hip-Hop & Breakdancing Classes
Come and break it down, learning urban street/commercial styles of hip hop along with break dancing basics! Our dance studio offers a smart and challenging Hip Hop curriculum for all ages that provides students with a high energy workout while accumulating a repertoire of dance moves to bust out the next time your favorite song comes on, to empress judges at your next audition/competition or to use in your crew battles! Students also have the opportunity to freestyle, choreograph and battle! Class placement is based on ability; ages are given for general direction. Students have the opportunity to participate in the End-of-the-Year Showcase, June 1-2, 2013—More details will be given the first week of class.
