unelson Fitness and Nutrition, of Golden Valley, now offers holistic services. Some of the new offerings include essential oils for emotional healing, a natural weight loss program with foods individualized for unique body types, relaxation and chi machine balancing sessions (with or without essential oils), inspirational card readings and guidance as well as life coaching. Husband-and-wife owners Matt and Brigitt Gunelson are both fitness trainers who work with clients in the privacy of their 500-plus-square-foot home-based fitness studio. Matt is also a natural bodybuilder and plans to compete in Mr. Natural Minnesota in May. Brigitt and Matt Gunelson “Adding these services after 10-plus years as a personal trainer working with clients for weight loss, my husband and I recognize healthy weight loss and healthy weight maintenance absolutely require a mind, body and spirit approach,” says Brigitt, a life and nutrition coach and aromatherapist. Previously, Brigitt owned Mind, Body, Spirit Home Fitness, but when Matt joined her full time in 2012, they renamed their business Gunelson Fitness and Nutrition. “We train one-on-one or can take partner or small group sessions,” Brigitt adds. “Matt and I are also available to travel to your home as well. Owner SchaOn Blodgett says all the professional-grade products maintain the highest standards when it comes to raw materials used as well as rigorous product and purity testing. “This is a huge benefit for a small business to be able to offer such a service, as shelf space is very limited and we’re not able to carry the wide-range of wellness products in-house that we would like to,” says Blodgett. He says that customers can expect to receive their ordered products in the mail in two to three days. “Another great benefit to our holistic health clientele is that we are able to suggest specific products from our dispensary and send them directly to their online HIPAAcompliant account,” he says.
