Letter from the editor So here we are already….April the month that we get to take that long awaited walk in the park and admire all the flowers that have bloomed. Our days are a little longer so we get to spend a few more minutes outside. Yes, we feel like a smile comes a little easier. I love the smell of the Jasmine and Honeysuckle I have planted right out my window. Spring in all its glory! We can’t leave out spring fashion and spring break it’s all in this issue. Tell us a little about how Jagger Edge got started? In 2009, I bought my first 3G iphone, details are very important to me. I was shocked to see not one single fashion/ luxury iphone cover. My choice was the kiosk in the mall, and I wasn't about to do that, Id rather my iphone go naked than wear a cover that doesn't represent my style. So I created one, and its just grown from there. How do you think the Jagger Edge covers are different from other covers out there? I am very humble, but in this case I do have to say that we are different, because we CREATED the market, and we will always have that advantage of being ahead of the others and cutting edge. We eat, dream, and sleep fashion and how we can incorporate that to an iphone cover. I feel like I have pioneered the idea that your iphone cover is one of the most visible accessories that one can wear and should reflect your style for that day. A person dosent own one pair of earrings,or shoes or bags etc. We should own several iphone covers, and change them out with our outfits.(we have special occasion covers and everyday covers) To some extent, I'm still trying to get this message across. While there are retailers like SHOPBOP, who actually list Tech accessories as a category, others still aren't there yet. What is a typical day like for you? Up at 6:00, get ready for work, drive my beautiful daughter to school, which is 5 minutes from my showroom, then watch 12 hours simply fly by. I love my work and my staff, my space is so peaceful, so a typical day is pretty awesome.

Why do you feel it is important for readers to purchase MADE IN THE USA products? For me personally that is where age and wisdom come. I have been in this industry a long time, I did not realize that in the 80's and 90's and early 2000, I basically contributed to the demise of made in USA fashion. I did not realize that importing tons of product from other countries at rock bottom prices, would lead to the closure of 90% of our USA factories. Like many changes I have made for myself for the better, I have vowed to right my wrongs, and make only USA products. yet.
What has been the most exciting moment with Jagger Edge so far? Every SINGLE moment!!! I say that Jagger Edge has been a SERIES OF FORTUNATE EVENTS. Who would be your dream client? Somebody that I can't mention. What inspires you? YOUTH. talented youth and fresh ideas, and being Happy, when I'm happy, everything is an inspiration. Where do you see Jagger Edge in 5 years from now? I see the future of Jagger Edge being able to employ more young employees, help teach and motivate youth, hopefully inspire youth that they can go out and create and own their own company, and give back to the USA. The American Dream is still alive and well. So I'm going to keep on dreaming, and growing and knowing that the sky is the limit!!!

We want these bathing suits to be as comfortable as your favorite jeans, so we've replaced that itchy mesh/net brief with an anti-chafe leg liner. Way more comfortable than a jammer. Much nicer than cutting out that net and wearing your boxers. No Nets. Zero Rash.
NoNets was founded by three sisters , Patti Messina, Sue Gray & Kym Timpano. They love the poolside and beach vacations, but for years had a problem finding a comfortable swim shorts for their sons and husbands. The problem was chafing and rashes from conventional mesh bathing suit briefs. So they decided to develop a better, more comfortable bathing suit for guys. Well guess what they did it and now thanks to these three sisters the problem is solved. We’ve also picked up another mission along the way - Made in the USA. Lets source as much of our materials as locally as we can to try and sustain our communities. We’re willing to die for our country, but are we willing to buy for it? We’re very excited about our line of Made in Brooklyn, NY boy’s bathing suits.

“We have embarked on a journey to make ridiculously comfortable swimwear for guys. Our design has an anti-chafe, anti-bacterial liner that is rated UPF 50+, which keeps guys comfortable and helps to prevent The Rash�. Our bathing suits are hand cut and sewn in our Brooklyn factory. We are doing our best to purchase as much of our materials here in this country. We feel this is really important. We surveyed hundreds of men and boys and used their feedback in our design. Some said they couldn't stand the feel or sound of nylon bathing suits. Ours is made of soft, brushed microfiber. Many hated how irritating the size/care tags felt. We put our labels on the inside of the pocket flap. Others said they hated how slow drying bathing suits are clingy in all the wrong places. Our bathing suit actively sheds water so it dries super fast. Just about all guys surveyed hated the interior mesh/net brief. When guys spend a lot of time at the beach, inner thigh areas tend to get rashed from the netting. We removed it and replaced with our unique liner. The mesh/net brief in most bathing suits becomes really irritating after a couple of days at the shore. The constant friction of the mesh/net, combined with salt water and/or chlorine makes for a painful trip to the beach...and then to the dermatologist. So, we designed this liner with the comfort of guys in mind. This high performance fabric actively sheds water, and holds everything in all the right places. Not as tight as a bike short, not as loose as boxers - just right. We thought traditional seams might be uncomfortable so all liner stitching is flat - no raised bumps anywhere

30 Seconds to Mars 30 Seconds to Mars has released their lead single from their upcoming album, 'Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams.' The song was literally launched 'Up in the Air' as it was made available for the first time aboard an International Space Station spacecraft. The single has now been made public, but first premiered on NASA TV and was first heard by astronauts of the Expedition 34 and Expedition 35 crew.

You have been in the music industry for quiet sometime now and have had so much success, what has been your most memorable experience in your career so far? Honestly, getting to meet Elton John my musical hero. Collective Soul has been around since 1992, how do you keep your sound current and rocking? Where do you find inspiration? I am not totally sure but know I'm just glad and feel lucky that I do. Can we expect some more music from Collective Soul coming up in the near future? Yes, we'll have a new studio album along with our 20th anniversary tour in 2014. Your brother, Dean is a member of the band. Does that make things more difficult or easier? It always nice having family on the road with you What are your current/ future projects? What can you tell us about the Sweet Tea Project? Sweet Tea Project is releasing an album in April. The band started with mutual friends I've known for years writing songs that were not necessarily right for Collective Soul. Very Americana sounding. What is your favorite beverage to drink? Could it be Sweet Tea? Definitely Sweet Tea! What advice would you give to current musicians / vocalist trying to make it in todays industry? I don't know. Only 1.5% of women, who were pregnant, as teens, have acquired a college degree by the age of 30.
79% of pregnant teen couples are unmarried. 80% of teen pregnancies are unintended. 80% of teen moms end up going on welfare. The U.S. has twice the rate of teen pregnancy than Canada. Japan’s teen pregnancy rate is 8 times lower than the U.S. rate. Reasons for lower rates of teen pregnancy, in other countries: Mandatory sex education. Easy access to contraception and abortion services. Social acceptance of teens expressing their sexuality. Truthful public media campaigns aimed at teens specifically about sex and pregnancy.
The national survey, “With One Voice” published on August of 2012 concluded: Parents matter. 38% of teens said parents are their number one influence when it comes to sex. Following parents are friends with 22%. More than 7 in 10 adults strongly believe that education about sexual abstinence as well as using contraception if engaging in intercourse should be provided to teens at an early age.
75% of teens say that when they see teen pregnancy in the media it makes them more aware or the consequences of it. 77% say that MTV shows 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom have helped them get a better understanding of teenage pregnancy and all the risks that come along with it. In The Spotlight Juddy Talt is an actor / writer / producer who attended the University of Southern California with a major in Theater and Film. At USC, he toned his acting skills and starting taking courses in screen writing. He began writing, Language of a Broken Heart, soon after he graduated. One of Talt’s great talents is storytelling, particularly comedies centered around love and romance. After all, it’s the one thing we can all identify with. Language of a Broken Heart depicts the language we all speak when we get beat up by love. Nationalist got a one on one with the creator of this amazing movie.

Can you share with us the time frame it took from the day you got the idea for this film until the project was completed. Way too long. About 5 years. But they say the average film takes ten years so I guess this wasn’t too long. The hardest part is having finished it and then waiting to find out if it will get picked up. It’s torture. But we are thrilled that it is being released in theaters. What was the craziest part of the process? MUSIC. I also was the music Supervisor on the film, which actually is kind of cool. I was able to use a lot of the songs that I had in my head when I wrote the script. But, then there’s the music licensing and that is just one hell of a process. I don’t think I’ll be doing that again. Maybe they will just let me pick the songs and then have somebody else deal with getting it approved. What were your biggest challenges? Shooting the film on a shoe-string budget. We shot this on 35mm and that is very expensive. We had to cut the script down and shoot it in 18 days. It was so hard to get it all in. Rocky Powell, the director, did a great job managing his time with each scene. He wanted to make sure that all the REAL actors got a lot of takes. I, on the other hand, would always just get one take and he was moving on. I’m in every scene though so I had to be on my game. Are you and "Nick" similar in anyway? I’m definitely a very sensitive guy. I’m not afraid to express my feelings. But that is so cool nowadays. Chicks love a sensitive guy. I did go see a therapist once when I got dumped, like my character. He kept on asking me about my love life and I was like, “what about yours?” And he said, “I’m going through my third divorce.” I remember thinking, what the hell does this guy know. It’s funny to think that nobody really knows the answer for heartbreak or loss. We just have to figure it out on our own.

How was it working with the cast? We truly have the best cast. And critics seem to agree. Julie White, plays my mother, and she was just so fun to work with. I never realized how funny she is. We just let her go. I remember there was a scene when we were supposed to be drunk and she was going to confront this guy that broke up with her. And I’m all pumped up to go yell at him and I ask, “Is he big?” And she replied, “I’m not gonna answer that.” That wasn’t in the script. But it gets a big laugh. Kate French, my love interest, is beautiful and talented. She is so much fun to work with along with Oscar Nunez, the Office, who just had me breaking character he’s so funny. Ethan and Lara were great too. ALL OF THEM! Did the cast know each other before the film? Nobody knew anybody. You can bond so quickly on a set. It’s like grown up summer camp. Are you working on any other projects right now? I wrote and produced a television pilot that I’m hoping will get picked up and I’m working on my next script which I hope to start shooting soon. 64 Nationalistmag.com

Tell us something about yourself that not many people know. I have the largest My Little Pony collection. Just kidding. I love to fly fish in Montana with my brother and dad. We do a trip over the summer and it’s the best week of the year. What would be the perfect date in your real life? Going and seeing the LA Phil Harmonic downtown LA at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. ReView Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones had a great second season and this epic episodic is coming back for its third season in its premiere March 31st on HBO. At the beginning of season two we find that Tyrion Lannister has been assigned to be the Hand of the King. With this new position Tyrion wields his power by keeping the arrogant King Joffery, who is still only a boy, in line. This creates tension between Tyrion and his sister, Cesari Lannister. Daenerys Targaryen struggles to find a home for her people and dragons as she roams the desert. She finds solace in the Quarth kingdom only for them to trick her and steal her dragons. She has to go through the House of the Undying, a stone building filled with endless illusions, for her to get her dragons back. She fights through the illusions with assistance from her dragons that finally learn how to breathe fire. She finds strength in the situation and is poised to lead her people again.
The battle of King’s Landing in the episode entitled “Blackwater” is highlighted with a great speech from Tyrion Lannister played by the brilliant Emmy winner Peter Dinklage. Tyrion claims “They say I am half a man, so what does that make the lot of you?” challenging the men to stand their ground and fight for their city rather than their cowardly king, honor, or riches. Known for his wit and strategic mindset Tyrion shows a bit of uncertainty that makes way for a brave moment. King’s Landing is safely defended. He is struck with a vicious blow and his effort to lead King’s Landing into victory goes unacknowledged. Game of Thrones is great at character development and creating interesting story lines. It all strings together at the end of season two with the maturation of Targaryen’s dragons, order being restored to King’s Landing, and Tyrion Lannister being stripped of all his power when he is abdicated of his role as King Joffery’s main adviser. Game of Thrones fanatics can anticipate White Walkers, an army of the undead, to play a more prominent role. The emergence of Robb Stark as the young King of the North will shift the balance of power. King Joffery is now able choose a new queen after he relieves Sansa Stark form marrying him. The third season of Game of Thrones will provide intense battle scenes, memorable quotes, and a slew of new characters.

Haim Haim is a band from Los Angeles which has been dubbed “Three sisters and a mister”. The band consists of the three Haim sisters: Este, Danielle, & Alana and their drummer Dash Hutton. Haim’s style is reminiscent of the great girl pop bands of the 80s. With each sister having the ability to play multiple instruments this adds to the texture of their songs. Este, the oldest of the Haim sisters, plays the bass and the guitar. Danielle plays the guitar. Alana, the youngest of the Haim sisters, plays the rhythmic guitar, keyboard, and percussion. They released their three song EP “Forever” In 2012 which propelled them to a performance at the South by Southwest Festival. Later that year they went on tour with the Grammy winning band Mumford & Sons. Continuing with the success of their EP, the music videos for their hit songs “Forever” and “Don’t Save Me” have each amassed over a million views on YouTube. They are set to perform at the Governor’s Ball in New York City this June along with preforming at the Bonnaroo Festival. They have recently put out a song “Falling” that will be featured on their debut album which its release date is still to be announced. By Evan L. Jackson

How has your life changed after you got the role on Awkward? After booking Awkward, I can definitely say my life got busier! I'm constantly working, which is an amazing feeling. I get to go to work every day and have tons of fun. I would say the biggest "changes" are internal. It has been such an amazing ride up until this point and it's extremely satisfying to know that all of my hard work has paid off. I'm much more confident in my work, and I have a clear understanding of where I want my career to go in the future. Tell us what a normal day for you is. While filming, a normal day usually starts off around 4:30 AM. I somehow manage to get myself out of bed (it's never easy) and get myself to work! We typically work for about 1214 hours a day. We start off getting our make-up and hair done, and then the majority of us hit up the breakfast bar! They make the best burritos! Do you spend time with the cast off camera? Yes! We're all very close. We've had many "awkward" parties and gatherings. Do you buy American made products ? I definitely buy American made cars! My family is a Ford Motor family!

Are there any highlights you can tell about for season 3? I’m very excited for fans to see where Tamara gets to go this season. Now that her and Ricky are broken up for good, she has a new love in her life. I can't wait for everyone to see Tamara in a happy relationship…it's very refreshing for my character. Tell us about the day you got the call that they picked up season 3. I was actually about to leave for the airport! I was going back to my hometown for my big brother’s wedding, and we had been anxiously waiting for some good news about season 3 for weeks! I cried, just like I did the last two seasons. I hope I have a chance to cry for many more! Do you have any other projects in the works? I do! I have an episode of the Nickelodeon show "Supah Ninjas" coming up soon along with some other independent movie projects that I filmed recently. Tell us what a perfect date would be to you. Honestly, I'm not that hard to impress. Some of my favorite date nights have been sitting in front of the TV watching a movie and stuffing my face with pizza! What does the American dream mean to you?
As much as the definition of the "American Dream" is about our wonderful government and our freedom as a country, to me it also means more than that. "Freedom" and "Opportunity" mean a lot for each individual American citizen. I'm grateful to live in a country where we can dress how we want, express ourselves, and be free to be who we want to be. Where is your favorite place to shop? I'm obsessed with Brandy Melville, Forever 21, Vanessa Mooney, and probably a billion other stores. I shop all over the place. I have so many different "styles" that I can't just pick one place to buy from! What is your favorite food and where is your favorite restaurant? I would say my favorite food is chicken, I think I might eat it every day. My favorite place to eat is Aroma Cafe! They make a mean chicken wrap. What is coming up for your character Tamara in the third season? There's lots of juicy stuff coming up this year! It's junior year for our characters, and we're all maturing. Tamara is now dating Jake, so there's a lot of fun relationship things coming up that are going to make fans really happy.
