This Is Where We Live
Frankie and Lev, two radically different personalities, take a stab at a relationship. The couple struggles with their personal demons as they try to hold on to one another against insurmountable odds.
Set in the Texas hill country, This Is Where We Live is a portrait of the Sutton family: Diane, while ignoring her own health issues, is caregiver to her son August, who has cerebral palsy, and her husband, who is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. Overburdened, she hires Noah, a local handyman, to build a wheelchair ramp up the front steps to the family home. The friendship that Noah and August forge has a ripple effect; life makes unexpected turns for those around them, and forces Noah to confront his past.
Set against the country-tinged, singer-songwriter-hipster music scene of East LA and Hollywood, the result is a chaotic, brooding roller coaster of a love story as the couple attempts to survive. Standout performances from rising star Amy Seimetz (Upstream Color) and Bret Roberts make this brooding, smokey tale from Director Tomer Almagor a mesmerizing ride.

About the filmmaker Tomer Almagor is an award-winning filmmaker and screenwriter. Tomer was born in Israel and traveled extensively before studying film in NYC. Post graduation, he moved to LA where he has been editing feature films while writing and directing his own material. After a series of short films, including Platinum REMI award-winning Spare, he wrote and directed his feature debut, 9 Full Moons.

About the filmmakers Josh Barrett and Marc Menchaca are professional actors, directors, writers and producers. Josh received his MFA at NYU’s Graduate Acting Program He also starred as a series regular with Marc in HBO’s Generation Kill. Josh also teaches acting at the New York Film Academy and produces segments for VH1. Marc has worked on several TV series, including: Treme, Person of Interest, Flashforward and most recently recurring on Showtime’s Homeland.
