HELP SOLVE THIS CRIME ATM stolen from A&W On Thursday Aug. 4, thieves broke into the A&W restaurant located at 1815 Bowen Rd. and made off with an Automated Teller Machine. Police responded to an alarm at 6:18 a.m. and found the south door to the business smashed open. It was apparent the ATM had been dragged outside then loaded into some type of waiting vehicle. An extension cord was still plugged into the wall where the ATM had been positioned. Later that same day, a male out mountain biking came across a burned-out pick up truck and the ATM on a logging road off of Southforks Road. It is believed the ATM was from the A&W and that the vehicle may have been used in the theft.
Break and enter to Beaufort Pizza On Friday Aug. 5, RCMP members attended to Beaufort Pizza at 1438 Bowen Rd., at 5:12 a.m., for a report of a glass-break alarm. When police arrived on scene, they noted that the front door had been smashed allowing for entry to the interior of the building. The only item taken from the business was the cash register. The register was extremely heavy so it is believed a vehicle was most likely used in the robbery.
