MC098-03A Rev:June14 AA/EEO Institution Art Degree - Traditional Track d g t This program provides a strong foundation in studio art and fulfills core curriculum requirements for the MassTransfer program. It prepares students to transfer to bachelor’s degree programs in fine art, design, art history, architecture, museum studies, art conservation, arts administration, art education, and interior or industrial design. Media Arts & Technology (MRT) Degree d e g o Courses in Media Arts and Technology prepare students for careers in audio engineering, video and film, photography and related communications fields. Acquire skills and expertise through academic coursework, production skills training and hands-on experience. Industry standard equipment and facilities include HD studio and field video production equipment and editing suites, audio recording and mixing studios, audio postproduction workstations, and electronic imaging labs. Students gain valuable experience producing media for regional, national and international audiences. Degree - Professional Track d g t This program provides a strong foundation in studio art and includes core academic courses required for transfer to bachelor’s degree programs at art institutes, museums schools, and many state universities. There, students can earn advanced degrees with concentrations in painting, sculpture, ceramics, illustration, printmaking, graphic design, animation, art education or architectural, industrial, landscape, or fashion design. Communications MRT - Photography Liberal Arts & Sciences Track g t In the field of communications, experience a variety of mass media subject areas. The curriculum provides an excellent overview of the communications field and a solid foundation for transfer to more specialized communications programs at four-year colleges and universities. Concentration and Certificate d e g o This option concentrates on the necessary skills for students to enter the field of professional digital photography. Today’s photographer is artistic, technically and technologically skilled, and business savvy. Photography concentration degree holders can explore careers in studio/portrait photography, commercial photography, photojournalism, and digital imaging. Graphic & Interactive Design Degree and Certificate d g t The Graphic & Interactive Design program provides students with the techniques and knowledge to become innovative, creative thinkers and leaders in print, web and interactive design. This program prepares students for careers in business marketing, promotional design, brand and corporate design, advertising, publication design, web design and development, and motion graphics. Students will be prepared to enter the competitive areas of graphic and interactive design, or to transfer to advanced degree programs. MRT - Audio Engineering Concentration d g Courses in the MWCC Audio Engineering concentration focus on skills necessary to pursue positions in professional sound engineering. Through hands-on training and specialized classroom study and research, students receive extensive training in all aspects of the industry. Video/film concentration students experience all aspects of pre-production, studio and location recording, and postproduction editing. Instruction includes extensive hands-on experience. Liberal Arts & Sciences Track e g t This program provides a solid liberal arts education with a comprehensive introduction to theatre, music, and dance, and is an excellent foundation for transfer to theatre and music programs at four-year colleges and universities. Students also benefit from opportunities to perform in award-winning Theatre at the Mount productions to gain hands-on experience working in the fully equipped scene shop, which includes state-of-the-art equipment.
