Metropolitan Area Bi-Weekly Newspaper | FREE March 4th 2011 - March 17th 2011 ISB Opens Dialogue with FBI Field Office By Muslim Link Staff The Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB) hosted a representative from the Baltimore office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation after Friday prayers on February 25, 2011. The short visit was intended to open up a dialogue between Baltimore Muslims and the FBI. The arrest of Baltimore area youth Antonio Martinez last December deepened the community’s suspicion of the FBI’s motives and tactics. Martinez was arrested Assistant Special Agent Mark P. Colgan spoke very briefly after the Friday prayers from the podium, giving attentive listeners a brief history and overview of the FBI. The agency was formed in 1908 and handles many types of investigations including violent crime, missing persons, white collar crime, and public corruption.
