The choral, band and theatre programs each have opportunities to perform on the local, regional and even international levels. If that wasn’t proof enough of our successful student athletes, we also have numerous Lancers named NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes, named to All-American teams, and named Conference Players of the Year. If you’re an athlete, facilities are important to you. We understand that and offer a wide range of athletic venues for you to practice and compete in. From our main Laddie E. Cimpl Arena to Riverside Park baseball/softball fields and all other facilities, we have the space to enhance your performance. As a competitor in the NAIA and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), which consists of private, faith-based colleges/universities in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota, we have a history of exellence in a variety of sports. Each year, many of our athletes qualify for national tournaments from each sport, further fueling our students’ passion for athletic distinction. We’ll even let you do more than one sport. Live. Our history began in 1876 when the Benedictine Abbot Martin Marty became the Dakota Territory’s first Catholic Bishop and missionary. In 1936, the Sisters of Saint Benedict responded to his presence and established Mount Marty College in his name.
