A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

WELCOMING CATHY COULTHARD

A LOOK BACK AT THE HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016 TIMES

1

A message from the CEO It is that time of year again where we all eat too much, drink too much and relax with family and friends. I am sure that everyone in Morris is looking forward to the Christmas period and my special thoughts go to those in the Morris team who are still keeping villages operational during this time. I know you will all work as a team to make Christmas Day on site special for all our residents, including yourselves. The highlight of the year for me has been the ongoing rollout of 3B and the positive reception it has received. I am extremely excited about our 3B service model of Be Friendly, Be Connected and Be Real, and how it is gaining tremendous momentum and traction throughout the entire Morris team. I have enjoyed the opportunity to visit almost all of our sites this year, meet with many of you and share your 3B stories. I have been extremely pleased to hear from clients about how well 3B is working and the fact that they are using the 3B language too! The part of 3B that you must think about first every day, is Be Connected – Look out for your buddy. If you see anyone working unsafely, ask them to stop and perform a review of the task together. If you find you are unable to complete the task safely, you have my permission to stop work until you have put controls in place that allow the task to be done safely. I ask that you continue to focus on and improve safety across our business. It is great to see our safety performance improving, however, one person being hurt in Morris is one too many! Please focus on safety, especially while driving, over this holiday season. This applies even if you are lucky enough to have Christmas off. Apply your safety knowledge with your friends and family. It has been a busy year with lots of change and many highlights for Morris. There is no question that the general resources market has been tough on everyone, but I am very proud of how the Morris team have been able to adapt and respond to these pressures. Many companies have not been able to do so, but we have and we are still going strong. We have mobilised a number of new sites this year, including Argyle Diamonds, ERA (uranium mine), Hera Gold, Extension Hill (iron ore mine) and seven coal mines in the Bowen Basin where we perform site cleaning. Like many new sites, some of these have had their initial challenges but in the true Morris resilient way, we are rolling up our sleeves and making it work. I am excited about the year ahead. I speak to our clients very regularly and they tell me that they feel the worst of the resources downturn is behind us and they look forward to getting on with business. We are starting to see occupancies increase across our sites which is great. However, there is no doubt that cost is still king in their world so we have to continue with watching every penny and being smarter about how we go about our work. Lastly, I will take this opportunity to thank each and every Morris employee for their contribution this year. I really feel that the Morris family is very strong and will continue to grow stronger as we all live and breathe 3B – so from my family to yours - have a 3B Christmas and a happy and safe New Year!

Welcoming Cathy to Morris Through Morris’ partnership with BUSY At Work under the Indigenous Mentoring Program, Morris welcomed school-based trainee Cathy Coulthard to our Brisbane office in July.

MEDIA RELEASE

THURSDAY 16 November, 2016

CATHY ENJOYS A BRIGHT START TO HER CAREER When Year 11 Rivermount College student Cathy Coulthard began her School Based Traineeship (SBT) with Morris Corporation she was a quiet modest young lady, uncertain of where her future might take her. Fast forward five months and Cathy is a confident young person with clear ambitions to pursue a career in the administration field. Originally hailing from Alice Springs before moving to Queensland with her parents, Cathy is proud of her Aboriginal heritage with the Warlpiri people on her mum’s side and the Arrernte people on her Dad’s side. Since starting her Certificate III in Business in July this year Cathy is revelling in the responsibilities that come with taking on a new role. “I enjoy the interaction with the other staff, learning new skills and being able to help out where I can,” Ms Coulthard said. BUSY At Work Managed People Services Team Leader, Vanessa Parry said the eighteen year old had positively embraced all aspects of the BUSY At Work Indigenous School Based Mentoring Program. “Cathy is very excited about the opportunities her traineeship will provide in the future. The SBT has allowed Cathy some flexibility with her school timetable and as a result she is now exploring pathways to pursue

her goal of completing a Diploma in Business,” Ms Parry said. Morris Corporation Learning and Development Advisor, Laura Ahern said Cathy had fitted in very well with the team at the Brisbane based office. Morris Corporation is a national company providing quality remote village and asset management services to the mining and construction sectors. “Cathy has demonstrated a great attitude and work ethic and is now at the stage where she is able to take on more administrative tasks using Microsoft Word and Excel as well as learning how to use our learning management system.” “She has been a great asset recently in putting together materials for our annual conference and is always willing to lend a hand and help other staff members. We love having her on the team and believe she is well suited to the Morris Family,” Ms Ahern said. Cathy is part of the Indigenous School Based Mentoring Program which is funded by the Australian Government under the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS). Under the IAS, support is provided to connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of working age with real and sustainable employment. Ms Ahern said Morris Corporation was delighted to partner with BUSY At Work in the Indigenous Mentoring Program. “We have enjoyed seeing Cathy grow in confidence over time both personally and professionally through her

traineeship and the mentoring.” “She has really taken on board the additional support offered through the Indigenous School Based Mentoring Program and is excited about the prospect of any doors the traineeship may open for her long term and Morris will support Cathy to achieve her goals however we can,” Ms Ahern added. Cathy said she was thankful for the additional support she had received from BUSY At Work. “The weekly and monthly contacts I have with the BUSY At Work mentor have helped me focus on my study and allowed me to gain more confidence. I am looking forward to completing my traineeship next July and seeing what other pathways I can take,” Ms Coulthard said. BUSY At Work CEO, Paul Miles said BUSY was pleased to see a young person being given an opportunity to learn new skills and gain a Certificate III in Business. “We are committed to working together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the broader Australian community in building a better future.” “Through the Indigenous School Based Mentoring Program Cathy has been able to enjoy the challenge of learning new skills while building a bright future for herself,” Mr Miles said. SUSTAINING OUR COMMUNITIES Charity with a 'SPLASH’ In support of people living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND), an Origin-designed and CPB-built dunking apparatus was placed at Condabri Central Camp for team members and guests to pay $10 to nominate unsuspecting mates to be ‘dunked’. Morris, in collaboration with our client Origin, organised Eat Street events over three days at Condabri Central, Reedy Creek and Spring Gully. It was a collective effort and super job by Executive Chef Paul Temple, Village Managers, kitchen teams, and assistance from FM East and West. The events featured a great vibe with tantalising street food, exceptional live music and theatrical displays from chefs on wok burners. ~ Julian Roberts, Lead Operations Manager

STORIES FROM THE HIVE With less than 24 hours’ notice to look after 150 additional guests due to a train derailment, and no way to get additional resources to site, the amazing team at Collinsville somehow managed to get the rooms and meals ready. There were multiple examples of departments outside housekeeping and kitchen volunteering to help. I rang Daniel Snow at Mt Carlton and asked if laundry could be delivered a day late so I could use the laundry ladies to help mobilise rooms. Snowy was happy to help out and the laundry ladies happy to pitch in. Our maintenance supervisor approached me to say she had been a housekeeper previously and could help. She then taught her grounds utility and both spent the day happily in housekeeping. The vibe between all departments on the day was so upbeat and positive. It was truly humbling to see what the team managed to achieve by being friendly, being connected, and being real. ~ David Goodwin, Village Manager, Collinsville Village

I just met with Peter Hobart, General Manager HSE & Risk, Integrated Gas, Origin Energy. The first thing he said to me, as we shook hands, was that the Morris field leaders and supervisors were so friendly, positive and had a can-do attitude. He said that they reminded him of Americans with their hospitality and ‘we can do anything for you’ attitude. He said it was a stand out for him every time he stayed on camp. ~ Fiona Berkin, CEO

I just wanted to pass on my thanks for Chris Francis’ assistance today. Both the setup and the food was of the highest quality and the staff involved fitted in exceptionally well. It was very well received by the Mirarr (our traditional owners) with lots of comments and thanks given on the day. Our support of cultural activities is a key component of ERA’s direct relationship with the Mirarr and your continued support with these events contributes significantly to this. ~ Nicole Jacobsen, Specialist Communities, ERA

3B MATTERS

“Customer service isn’t about telling people how awesome you are, it’s about creating stories that do the talking for you.” So how do we capture all the great customer service happening across Morris - to share ideas and celebrate success, in a way that is accessible to most, and requires very little additional work for our sites and villages? It was this statement and question that led to the creation of the 3B Customer Service App - Stories from the Hive. The purpose of the 3B App: • To celebrate exceptional customer service • To share Morris wide how we each display Being Friendly, Being Connected and Being Real • To engage people in the 3B Customer Service philosophy • To give YOU a voice when it comes to recognising and rewarding customer service at your place of work

Buzz of the Month 2016 3B TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY ROADSHOW VEHICLE PARKED FOR THE YEAR The last of the 3B Transformation Journey presentations for 2016 were delivered to the teams at Anglo/Dyno Moranbah, Southwalker, Poitrel and Brisbane head office. The 3B actions demonstrated by the teams were a highlight, especially at Southwalker where the team created their own ‘Hive Board’. They were also recently awarded the ‘Bright Spot’ recognition by client BMC for thinking outside the box. Fiona, Adrian, Shaun and myself would like to thank all the teams we visited during the 2016 roadshow for their commitment and enthusiasm to 3B. Not only are we receiving great stories for the Hive from everyone, we are also receiving amazing feedback from our clients – they are even using ‘3B speak’. We are currently working on Episode Three of the 3B transformation journey series – so watch this space for exciting 3B transformation journey initiatives in 2017. Do continue to keep the 3B spirit alive and we look forward to visiting the remaining sites in 2017. Have a wonderful, happy, and safe 3B Christmas and New Year. ~ Allison Roach, Acting 3B Cultural Lead
