A Blueprint for Aging Services in Monroe County October 2014 With this our fifth issue of Senior Source, our goal remains to provide accurate and useful information about human services to the citizens of Monroe County. The Social Services Committee, a work group of the Commission on Aging “Monroe County Blueprint on Aging” is dedicated to this goal. We have also strived to make this publication useful to anyone of any age group that may use it. We would also like to take this opportunity to encourage you to enroll in the Monroe County Alert Notification System (MCANS). MCANS will keep you informed in the time of bad weather or other community emergencies, such as drinking water alerts. If you are medically unable to care for yourself during an emergency situation you may enroll in the Emergency Preparedness Program so first responders will know that you may need help evacuating or obtaining food and water. Both programs are administered through the Monroe County Emergency Management. To register, call 734-240-3135.
