Prerequisite: Beginning Fishing Camp, or experience with overhead and sidearm casting, mastery of at least one reliable knot to attach tackle to line, and ability to rig plastic worms and grubs to jig heads.

This advanced camp will focus on building skills and techniques to effectively use a wider variety of artificial lures, and better understand fish behavior and fishing strategies. Campers will also learn care, maintenance and selection of equipment. We’ll fish a wide variety of waters, both on and off-site. Spend four days and three nights in the great outdoors, learning all about your county parks while doing meaningful service projects (SSL-approved). By day, you’ll meet the folks who keep the parks running, from Park Managers and Park Police to natural resource experts. By night, you’ll swing through the trees at the Go Ape rope course; enjoy night hikes, campfires, and lots more! We’ll spend each night camping in beautiful Little Bennett Park. River Adventures Kayak Camp

Kayaking is even more fun than it looks! Learn the basics of successful kayaking on flat and gentle river waters in this beginners’ camp. We’ll cover equipment, safety, basic strokes, entries and exits (wet and dry), boat control, self-rescue, how to read the water, river hazards, safe transport of kayaks, knots and hitches, features/uses of kayaks and equipment, and more, using American Canoe Association-approved manuals and certified kayak instructors. We’ll spend our first day on Little Seneca Lake learning how to kayak on flatwater, and the other three days on local rivers (Class I moving water). Four-day camp. Parent & Child Nature Art Camp

Share nature and art with your child! Together you’ll discover the plants and animals of the forest, stream and meadow while creating nature artwork and projects to treasure. Come with us to hike the entire Maryland section of the Appalachian Trail! We’ll start our 40-mile hike on the Maryland/Pennsylvania state line and head south along South Mountain, covering about 10 miles a day. During the day we’ll take in all the trail has to offer, including breathtaking views, local history, and some beautiful state parks. For two of the three nights, we’ll camp in shelters along the trail. On our second night, we’ll get some well-earned R&R when we tent camp at Greenbrier State Park, where we’ll enjoy swimming, canoeing and hot showers. Are you up for the challenge? Chesapeake Week

Explore the Chesapeake Bay and the watershed region by sailing, camping, canoeing and more! We’ll begin the week exploring the Bay by boat as we hoist our sails, trawl for fish, and analyze water samples looking for microscopic life forms. Mid-week, we’ll hop into canoes to get a more intimate look at the Bay’s waterways, camp for two nights, and go fossil hunting. We’ll close out the week by examining the lives of people who’ve made the Bay their home throughout the years, including early American colonists and Native Americans living in long house villages. Family Adventures Kayak & Canoe Camp

Parents, do you have a secret wish to go to summer camp just like your kids? Here’s your chance! Enjoy four days of canoeing or kayaking and one overnight camping expedition with your children. In the first two days, we’ll cover the basics of flatwater and Class I moving water kayaking and canoeing, including gear, safety, basic strokes, entries and exits (wet and dry), how to read the water, and more. On Thursday and Friday, we’ll take our boats and sleeping bags to the Chesapeake Bay to paddle and enjoy this fabulous natural resource. Fee includes kayak rental, personal flotation devices, and other necessary equipment.
