Jason Bailey has been an educator in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation since 1995. Upon completing his Bachelor of Science Degree from Ball State University, Jason began teaching English and speech at Harrison High School. In his seven years at Harrison, Jason was known for having an excellent rapport with his students and was commended for his involvement in extra-curricular activities which included class sponsor, football coach, and drama director, just to name a few. In 2002, shortly after completing his Master of Science degree from the University of Southern Indiana, Jason left the classroom to join EVSC’s team of Integrating Curriculum and Technology Specialists (iCATS). During his six years with iCATS, Jason’s contributions to the corporation have included developing and maintaining educational web portals that have become the homepages of teachers and administrators alike. In addition to leading the initial training for corporation-wide initiatives such as teacher websites and the online gradebook, Jason has presented professional development sessions at local, state, and national conferences. Jason also collaborated in the iCATS’ writing and implementing of the EdTech Grant, bringing more than 1.5 million dollars to the EVSC and becoming the exemplary grant of its kind for the state of Indiana. The EVSC created the Intervention Team in 2008, and Jason joined three experienced building leaders to work with the district’s schools in improvement. In nine months this team collaborated with principals in data analysis, research, and implementation of professional development, also writing the 1003g Grant which brought nearly 1 million dollars into these Title 1 schools. In 2009, during the restructuring of the EVSC Academic Team, Jason was appointed to Director of eLearning and Instructional Technology. Through collaboration with members of the Academic Team and Offi ce of Technology, Jason had been involved in the creation of the Learning Leadership Cadre, high school 1:1 implementation, eLearning coaches, as well as the adoption of digital resources such as the ANGEL learning management system and Apex Learning. Jason and his wife Heather (Teacher at Reitz High School), have two children: Bryce and Elizabeth.
