A manual handle is available to control the magnetic path with an On and Off switch. The magnetic power is used as an energy source, and the lifting power will never decrease. Additional external sources of power are not necessary, as the MagnusLift Permanent Lifting magnets can operate independently and virtually at any location. The MagnusLift is utilized in connecting different components of an operation during lifting and handling for transport or assembly. They have the ability to elevate whole iron blocks, cylindrical and magnetic materials, steel sheets, rods, die castings, forgings etc. The MagnusLift comes with useful functions and abilities including the Load, Upload, and Move of heavy metal equipment. It is the ideal tool to eliminate the need of a clamping tool, chains or slings, or other similar lift-assisting equipment. The operation of the MagnusLift is simple, safe, and structured conveniently for your easy understanding. Please clean the lifting magnet face and contact area. This area must be even and clean before use. 2. Do NOT hook two lifting magnets without a properly designed spreader beam. 3. Do not place the loaded material above other persons, to prevent any possible accidents. 4. The weight of the load should be distributed evenly for the lifting magnet used. 5. Do not place persons on top of the lifted load. 6. Do not place the magnet and load vertically. 7.No obstructions or boundaries should be in the way of the magnet and its load. 8. Make sure your load is lifted evenly. 2.2: SAFETY FACTORS The indicated lifting magnet capacities represent the lifting capacity of the magnet on a variety of loads under IDEAL conditions. If operated incorrectly, under varying conditions of operation, unforeseeable consequences may occur, unless the operator applies the safety instructions as stated. All safety measures require an observance of the lifting operation representing actual conditions of it. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Operating conditions dictating safety factors: Load surface and Condition Magnet surface and Condition Smooth lifting Equal distribution of weight of the load on Magnet Environment of operation Voltage fluctuation ( electromagnets) If these conditions are NOT ideal for operation, the operator must apply special safety factors, which will account for the effects on the MagnusLift strength. 3.0: OPERATION & MAINTENANCE INFORMATION 3.1: OPERATION & INSPECTION INFORMATION 1. Please clean the bottom and surface of the magnet and the lift loa, as rust, burr, paint, dirt, or other uneven surfaces will reduce the lifting power significantly. 2. Apply care when placing the lifter on the steel load without impact. The load to be lifted should be lifted in a centered manner, with the weight being distributed equally. 3. Turn the manual handle button in the ON position until a "Safety Key" of the handle suggests "Lock Pin" in the lifter body. This will indicate the handle is in the "On" position and ready to operate. 4. Slowly and carefully transport your lifted load to the desired location. 5. After placing the lifted load on its designated location, press the manual handle button into the OFF position to release the lifted load from the magnet. Do not turn the manual handle in the ON position without preparing a load underneath the magnet to be lifted. 2. Heat, Drops and Shocks can damage the lifting power and surface of the magnet significantly. 3. Store the MagnusLift at a location that is free of metal chips, scraps, grit, moisture. Applying oil will protect the magnetic poles from rusting after use. 4. Make sure to inspect the mechanical condition of the MagnusLift and the surface of its poles before use. The surface has to be clean and free of damages. 5. The safety key on the handle is to move smoothly by pressing the Button on the top, while the MagnusLift is placed above load. 6. An annual calibration check is recommended for proper maintenance. 4.0: ORDERING PARTS & DIMENSIONS 4.1: PARTS & DIMENSIONS When additional or replacement parts are required, please provide MagnusLift Model Number & Serial Number located on the MagnusLift nameplate. 4.2: DIMENSIONS & SPECIFICATIONS 5.0: SAFETY CURVE CAPABILITIES 5.1: ACTUAL CAPACITY VALUE The magnet capacity and lift value of the MagnusLift can be reduced by the following factors: ● ● Thickness of the load (see chart) Air Gaps between load and MagnusLift caused by paint, dirt, roughness, or uneven surface Carbon Composition: With Lifts of Carbon steel, the lift value will result in a 30% deficiency. With lifts of iron, the lift value will be 50% or less. Round objects: When lifting pipes or other round materials, the thickness, dimension and weight of the objects matter. Sheet: Large and thin sheets of steel can be bent and peeled off when lifted, despite their light weight. The magnetic flux may penetrate through a sheet that is stacked on top of other objects and cling to pieces placed underneath. This causes danger. Please ensure proper use. ● ● ● 5.2: STEEL THICKNESS TABLE 1: ACTUAL CAPACITY 6.0: HELPFUL FACTS Weight, Shape, Area of Load: The number of magnetic poles on MagnusLift is to be determined by the use intended. In general, the more poles are available on the surface of the magnet, the more shallow is the magnetic field. A magnet with two poles has a deeper field than a magnet containing 3 poles or more. The design of the magnetic pole circuit indicates the depth of it the magnetic field that it produces. Surface Condition: The surface of the magnet has to be clean, as well as the surface of the load to be lifted. Additionally, air gaps caused by dirt, ice or other uneven matters in the surface will reduce the lifting power of the magnet. Please clean the surface of the magnet and load before applying the lift. Sizes and Shapes: The force to separate the lifted load from the magnet attached to it is called "breakaway force". This power is proportional to the thickness of the items lifted. This force increases unless the material to be lifted exceeds the saturation thickness. Materials of lesser dimension and diameter will not yield a greater breakaway force. Safety: The capacity of the magnet and its lifting power stands in direct relation to the materials it has to lift. Metals like alloys, with higher iron content are more likely to attach to magnetic fields than those of lower iron. WARRANTY INFORMATION: Each MagnusLift Permanent Lifting Magnet is inspected and tested prior to being shipped to the customer. In case of any problem occurrence within one year of the purchase of the MagnusLift, please return the magnet to us. Upon an inspection, it will be determined if the failure of the MagnusLift is caused by defective handling, workmanship, material. Repairs will be made with no charge, the product will be returned to the customer. The warranty excludes: a) deterioration of the magnetic power caused by normal wear, handling abuse, side loading, eccentric loading, overloading, chemical and abrasive actions, improper use, excessive heat. b) Issues resulting from repairs, modifications, alterations caused by the customer, aside from the MagnusLift company personnel. c) Damage occurring to the MagnusLift due to accidents or false maintenance d) Repair parts or other accessories that are NON - MagnusLift brand are used.
