ALTURNERTIVE 2 “Alturnertive2” offers visitors to Margate a chance to to see another innovative new show by the newlyformed artist-led group, Alturnertive. The show, due to open on Friday 25th September at the Harbour Arm Gallery, will display the work of some of Kent’s most talented emerging artists and art students. Some of these artists have exhibited widely, whereas for some this will be their first chance to show their work outside of their art school. Curator of Alturnertive2, Caron Ottewell, feels that, “there are many fantastic places in Kent for established artists to exhibit their work, but there is a lack of opportunities for artists not at that stage of their career. It is so important to create opportunities for newly graduated and emerging artists, to stop the county’s best new talent moving away from the area.”

‘CONNECTIONS’: ST. MARY’S CHURCH SUNDAY SESSIONS FOR CHILDREN AGED 5+. Our programme of sessions begins on Sunday 18th October at 10 o’clock in the Old Schools. This term we will be working together on a piece of craft work based on the Nativity. As we work, we will explore the stories associated with the birth of Jesus. Our time together will also include prayers, songs, quizzes and discussion.
