The Philadelphia Inquirer's Carrie Rickey called it "a riveting odyssey in pictures and words. It's unlike any journal you've read or any animated movie you've seen." "Persepolis" will screen Friday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for Parrish members, $7 for non-members. Fri 5/14 New Global Cinema: “The Triplets of Belleville” 7:30pm $7/$5 Parrish members Enjoy this innovative animated tale which Ty Burr of the Boston Globe called "a simple yet darkly hilarious tale of a boy, his grandmother, her dog, and three frog-eating vaudeville stars....All you really need to enjoy 'Triplets' is a taste for the weird and the wonderful." Fri 5/14, 5/21, 5/28 Fridays at Noon 12:00pm Free with Museum Admission Join Alicia Longwell, Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Chief Curator, Art and Education, for three fascinating lunchtime talks related to the exhibition Fairfield Porter: Raw—The Creative Process of an American Master. Thurs 5/27 Opera in Cinema: Aida 7:30 pm $20/$16 Parrish members The Parrish Art Museum's Opera in Cinema series continues May 27 with Verdi's "Aida." The Bregenz Festival's 2009 version is slightly unusual - the stage is floating in the middle of a lake, the costumes are a mix of contemporary and traditional, there are risqué moments, and the entire action takes place on what looks like a giant replica of the feet of the Statue of Liberty. Pair this quirky but visually stunning staging with Verdi's classic music, and you have a fantastic night at the cinema. Tickets are $16 for Parrish members, $20 for non-members, and may be purchased online at parrishart.org.
