MUSIC AT THE TALKHOUSE The Stephen Talkhouse, 161 Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930, 631.267.3117 Buckwheat Zydeco, 8pm, $45 After over 20 years of bringing authentic Creole Zydeco music to the world, Buck still hasn’t stopped. Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds, 10pm, $10 With a shot of whiskey, an over the shoulder gaze and a youthful smirk, Arleigh Kincheloe, lead vocalist for Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, saunters toward the stage knowing something you don’t know. Arleigh knows that tomorrow morning, with your tired legs and hoarse voice, you’ll still be talking about last night’s show. The Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds show that reignited your passion for live music. Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds blend old school gut-busting funk and soul with straight up rock and roll. Led by Arleigh Kincheloe’s strong vocals, the appropriately named Dirty Birds are a flock of eight men that create a sometimes sexy other times funky –but always tight-- powerhouse wall of sound where the harmonica plays a front and center role. Arleigh and her brother, Jackson Kincheloe (harmonica), were raised in the Catskills region of New York state by musical parents. Their mother was a country singer a la Patsy Cline and their father, a drummer, performed in rock and roll 31 North Main Street, East Hampton NY 11937 631-324-9766 innkeeper@millhouseinn.comwww.millhouseinn.com
