they matter. Love isn’t the mushy-gushy Hollywood romance that is clean and magical and nothing but beautiful. Real love is messy. It’s hard work. It’s not always easy. And, it’s a choice. It’s a choice to show up. It’s a choice to move forward. It’s a choice to pick up that misplaced toy once again. It’s a choice to give up your Saturday mornings to watch little ones run amuck on a soccer field. It’s a choice to cook dinner instead of plopping down in front of the TV. It’s a choice to do work you are proud of for the sake of your family. Now I’m not saying you need to do it all. I’m not saying you need to be the martyr in the family. You must set priorities, say “no” to some things and teach the kids to be responsible participants in the household duties. But even when all that is well managed, there is still so much for a mom to do. Remember, this isn’t a Hollywood love story. Life isn’t neatly packaged and predictable. This is real. It’s messy. It’s frustrating and beautiful. And it matters. But it’s not just the to-dos that matter. You matter. Read that again, but slowly this time:
You. Matter.
