Summer Study Abroad
S
eventy Meredith students studied abroad in locations around the world this summer. Faculty-led programs were held in Belize, Costa Rica, France, the United Kingdom, and at Meredith’s palazzo in Sansepolcro, Italy. Many students experienced learning opportunities beyond their course work and the cultural education provided by these in-

ternational classrooms. Eleven students in the Paris fashion program completed internships with designers like Elie Saab, Alexandre Plokhov and Rick Owens. Seven of the internships were paid positions, and all of them provided valuable experience in the field. Students in Belize and Costa Rica did service projects while abroad. Meredith stu-
dents tutored students at The Faith Nazarene School in San Ignacio, Belize, using the MeredithReads literacy curriculum, and completed playground refurbishments using funds raised by the Colton English Club. While in Costa Rica, Meredith study abroad participants painted an outdoor mural for a school.
