MARKETING CONCENTRATION

The concentration in marketing deals with addressing issues such as the study of factors affecting the profitability of firms, improving management decision making, and the impact of consumer behavior. Some examples of the types of questions studied include: What is the optimal price to charge for a product? How does advertising affect sales? What is the most effective way to control the flow of products between the firm, its suppliers and its customers? How should a product be positioned in relation to its competitors? The study of marketing often uses economic theory to build models and also teaches students how to create new knowledge helpful to marketing managers. The marketing concentration program is designed for those who wish to pursue careers as marketing analysts and researchers, sales representatives and managers, organizational buyers, supply chain and logistics managers, or other highly specialized personnel.
