Lady Tigers snap skid with win against Murray State
Richmond, Ky. --- TSU posted more than 80 points for the second straight game but could not come away with a win in a, 91-86, double-over me loss to EKU
Nashville --- TSU snapped a seven game losing skid Thursday night with a, 73-70, win over Murray State. Despite giving up nearly a double-digit second half lead, TSU was able to hold off MSU and come away with the win.
TSU had three players to score in double-digits led by Foster (20 points) and Haynes (20 points). Stafford added 19 points while Hopes finished the game with a team-high 10 rebounds and nine points.
Stafford led TSU with 16 points while Foster added 12. Hopes just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
Coles led EKU with 26 points while Carpenter added 25. Jones finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double while Colyer added 13.
MSU had four players in double-digits led by Winfrey’s 17 points. Isom added 14 while Lowe posted 13. Robinson also registered double-digits with 10.
TSU fell behind 85-75 in the second over me but did not give up and con nued to fight. TSU clawed back to within two points with 31 seconds le behind a bucket from Tayla Foster.
A er being fouled with 4.6 seconds le in the game, Stafford stepped up to the line and knocked down two huge free-throws to put TSU ahead, 73-70.
Moments later, EKU hit two free-throws to go up, 87-83. On TSU’s trip down the floor, the Lady Tigers commi ed a costly turnover with about 14 seconds le on the clock. TSU was forced to foul and EKU knocked down two free-throws to ice the game.
Murray State’s final shot a empt was off the mark.

Foster posted a career-high 25 points to go with eight rebounds while Haynes added 19 points. Morris pulled down a team-best nine rebounds while Jones grabbed eight boards. Lady Tigers rally in win over SIUE Nashville --- In a game that featured ten es and eight lead changes, TSU) used a 16-4 run with six minutes le to take control of the game and pick-up a home win over SIU-Edwardsville.
Clarksville, Tenn. --- Despite chopping a 20-point second half deficit down to two points, TSU could not close the deal in a tough, 74-66, road loss to APSU. The Lady Tigers played tough the whole game but suffered through a few scoring droughts that helped Peay pull out the win.
Foster exploded for a career-high 33 points and recorded her second double-double of the season with 11 rebounds. Stafford came off the bench to score 14 points while Morris chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds. Gaston finished the game with 10 points, three rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
TSU was trailing, 66-54 when a rally that included buckets from Stafford and Foster cut the APSU lead down to single digits. A jumper from Foster followed by a three-point bomb from Stafford brought the Lady Tigers to within two, with 1:19 remaining.
Berry led SIUE with 17 points while Decker tallied 16. Courtney Kenner added 10 points and Herrod grabbed 11 rebounds.
APSU scored in the paint on its next possession to go up, 69-65, with 47 seconds le . TSU missed a three-pointer on its trip down the floor but Meredith Stafford got a steal when APSU tried to inbound the ball.
TSU shot 44.4 percent from the field (24-of-54) and 80 percent from the free-throw line (28-of-35). SIUE finished with a 37.9 shoo ng percentage (25-of-66) while only knocking down 66.7 percent (16-of-24) from the charity stripe.
Unfortunately, she was called out of bounds and APSU went ahead, 70-65, on the next play. Meredith Stafford made a free-throw to close within four with 26 seconds le but that would be as close as the Lady Tigers would get.
