Make Your Own Minnie Mouse Cupcakes Minnie Mouse cupcakes are one of the cutest and easiest things you can create in the kitchen. There are several ways you can achieve the look, so you can be as elaborate or as stylishly best ergonomic mouse simple as you wish. Minimum effort, maximum results. Simple and Cute Use Fondant Icing!

These little cupcakes are quite understated compared to a lot of cupcakes we see in bakeries now, but the effects are really beautiful. The best thing about this method is that you don't need any special equipment to achieve the results; although if you have a cookie cutter you will make life simpler. To make the cakes even more eye-catching the cakes here?are housed in pink foil cupcake cases. This is great for this kind of approach, but would be a bit over the top if used with one of the other designs below. Once your cakes are baked and?cooled, you can roll out the fondant icing*.? Using your finished cakes as a guide, select a suitably sized cookie cutter that would fit over the top with a little to spare. You can always cut around the base of a glass or cup using a knife if you don't have a cutter. The frilly edged cutters look good for this cake though.

Affix the fondant icing circles over the cakes?using frosting. The ears are a simple make using black fondant icing (use readymade if you can as mixing in black food color paste is a messy job) and rolling small pieces into balls, before gently squeezing into discs. Press these into the icing and use some egg white as glue to keep them in place. The bows are small strips of darker pink fondant pinched in the middle. Then place a small squashed ball of the same fondant in the middle to represent the knot. Decorate with polka dots using white icing. WHY NOT TRY? Obviously pink is a classic choice for Minnie Mouse, but you could also use red if you were feeling brave, and maybe even add some white polka dots with icing if you had the time. DON'T WANT TO USE FONDANT? Then simply mix up some royal icing (powdered sugar mixed with egg white) and poor the icing over the finished cakes. You need to make sure the sides of your cakes

haven't risen above the lip of the cupcake case for this method to work though; otherwise it could get messy! * Fondant icing is also known as sugar paste or regalice and?comes ready rolled and ready colored.

Ears and Bows Pipe on the Frosting This is probably my favorite technique as they always get such a good response from anyone who sees them. They are actually pretty simple to make, much like the method above you only really need the ears and a bow on each to make it obvious that it's a Minnie cupcake.

I would personally pipe on either white or pink frosting, as red frosting just doesn't look as appealing and means a whole heap of food coloring. As you can see from the pictures, either a large plain nozzle or a star nozzle looks good.

I highly recommend using ready colored sugarpaste (fondant) if you can get it, just because mixing in black coloring is so messy and you are going to need to make a lot of ears. If you do get your hands on black food coloring paste then cover your hands with disposable gloves, or at a push you can tie freezer bags around your hands.

As above, first roll small balls from the black fondant and then press into a disc/ear shape. These can then be pushed straight into the frosting with no further action needed. For the bows, you can either use the method described above, or else use strips of sugarpaste to make loops, then pinching them in the middle and adding a small ball of paste for the middle of the bow. Or instead, use a smaller strip to wrap around the middle of the loop to give it some added dimension. WHY NOT... make life easier and cut out the black fondant altogether. Instead you can use mini Oreos or similar to replicate Minnie's ears. ?

Go That Step Further

Of course ears and a bow is all you need to make it obvious that your creation is a Minnie but you can take the decoration further for some added interest and detail. Using a red cupcake case with polka dots just screams Minnie Mouse. Or if you can't find such cases add some Minnie Mouse best gaming mouse 2014 sprinkles or?red, white and/or black sprinkles

over the frosting. If you really want to make a statement or create a party centerpiece, then Minnie Mouse cupcake stands are available. Or lease a plain stand and put a cuddly Minnie or something similar on the top. Or why not take it beyond cupcakes and go ahead and make your own Minnie or Mickey Mouse birthday cake - it's not as hard as you might think and there are plenty of designs to choose from.
