THE Rotary Club of Traralgon Central recently presented its inaugural “strength of character awards” – presented to some of the area’s youth for bravery in adversity, resilience or exceptional character and diligence in their everyday life. Each received a framed certificate, which read in part: “This award recognises
those who have quietly and modestly shown integrity and determination in their educational, family or community life”. More than 60 people attended the presentation. About 40 of these comprised the 10 awardees, their parents, guardians, grandparents and school representatives.

Early Easter IN the spirit of its new slogan “we make learning fun”, Traralgon Neighbourhood Learning House is celebrating Easter early, from April 4 to 8. Adult education officer Julie Callahan said the Easter fun week was the house’s major fundraiser for the term. “But more importantly it’s a wonderful way to celebrate our neighbourhood
house community and enjoy some fun and laughter together,” she said. Activities during the week will include Easter trivia, yellow day, an egg hunt, and an Easter hat and decorative egg competitions. Most activities will cost $1. Enquiries: 5174 6199 or drop into 1113 Breed St.
