Addition to Heitor de Almeida’s house (Vila Nova Artigas 1949) Painters Studio and Library 2004
M u l t i m e d i a a n d Pl a s t i c i t y.
This Project aims to provide an extension to an existing house, in which through the living room one can move on to a common family library that leads to tilted patio and a Painter Studio, and then on to aced a series of canvas half hidden from the general eye. This path means to be simultaneous for working and exposing the art pieces, being those painted or projected in various canvas provided by the structure it self. Main materials - Fiber reinforced polymer, Steel and High density polystyrene composite structure

Understanding Stuctures
Guincho is an extreme environment for settlement where the winds tend to be of a 19 km / h day average. Its visible in the flora, because it tends to cling on the soil which the sun, for its turn fragments. So the building is a grid shaped structure clinged to the soil and covered with Polymer shell to create a smooth surface turned both towards the predominant wind and best sun exposure, reverting the erosion potential and transforming it to energy saving solutions and allowing a open loft like dynamic space that exhibits a small interior garden conceptually representing architecture.
Main Materials - Fiber Reinforced Polymer exterior canvas; Oak Beam/Pier structure, Concrete Nuclear structure and anchorage

Friendly Machine
The Curry Cabral Hospital project was approached as a friendly life support machine. In the sense, that its high degree of functionalism, would not affect in any way basic human needs such a context, comfort, identity, the notion of time. Main materials - Concrete and Glass

APL Lisb on Por t Adminis tration Mas terplan an d Cruise Terminal 2007
Understanding Flow This project is a urban master plan for a land reclaimed site located in a highly complex part of city witch is simultaneous consolidated, historical and the main Portuguese ship containerization TEU platform. The high complexity of this infra-structures required decomposing for analysis, to successfully implement a urban design. Therfore it was taken in consideration both some tectonics aspects of the over all urban vs. natural system as well as a building modulation to adapt to the chosen urban plan and the pre-supposed the conversion of the platform in to a international cruise terminal Part of the Class project publication 1st prize Winner of the University Awards for the Lisbon 2007 Architecture Trienal – Urban voids

Heat study
This Building concept included an attempt to minimize solar heat gain by inducing morphological variations in the horizontal components of the structure. Not only to respond to annual maximum solar exposure ratio, but also to induce yet another set of variations, meant to enhance performance responding to exposure changes through out the day.

Building A Module Rendering
This Module is also an approach to the contribution of Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) in architecture with attention to building physics and environmental control. With the result of a dome like structure which houses a green, oxygen productive space which is meant to have a ventilation impact through out the building and to be used by its occupants as a community garden. It was important in this perspective to be able to describe in a certain level a constructive idea of this kind of non-uniform geometry, in order to make valid the architectural proposal

Concrete volume calculation
As assistant director my responsibilities during the early stages of the construction where mainly to direct teams such as excavation, formwork and steelworkers in order to supply project information by giving concrete reference points such as levels, layout etc…Also to Implement technical directions given by project engineers and direct the work flow of construction stages.

Exterior finishing work
As the result of the construction comes to a later stage, the main concern was managing technical infrastructures, which in this case where very demanding, ranging from Solar Energy System to Motorization of Window Shutter Elements. As the finishing work started our company policy was to be very aware of architects and owners directives and detail, making sure to manage and direct sub-contractors in order to have a well negotiated but still high quality final work.

Dialectic recursion This experience is the result of applied computational design practice. The goal was to computer generate a architectonic form, with resource to a pre-defined spatial relation rule, created to satisfy a set of given transformations (T) parameters. In this case a twelve interacting recursive steps, associated with inflected panel like shape, which could eventually be tested for acoustic performance. Though the processing of the design is considerable fast, the same is not true for the definition of the set of parameters to be computated. In order to generate design improvement, technical skill and extensive study are required. Therefore I believe that computer environment provides a medium for architecture that serves as counter point to imagination. A place where it can be expanded, as well as optimized and described before becoming a reality. Ukama Wango Means “My Family” in the Ndao dialect from the Shona in the Beira province of Mozambique This Project was a joint endeavoring of a young men Called Tiago da Cunha Ferreira, Tese N.G.O. project and the Mozambique writer Mia Couto, which led to a book and subsequent national exhibition . This book consisted in a photography exposure of the Tivane family to promote the United Nations Millennium Goal’s and the universality of family values. For which I was very proud to cooperate as Project manager and artistic consultant.
Water facilities information pamphlet project - Luanda - Angola
MGCC MGCC, means, Comunitary Manegment of Fontains Model, wich had to be explained to the population trough pamphlets with explanatory drawings, So they could understand the water managing system and the proper equipment usage. This was designed in collaboration with Àguas de Portugal (National Water Company) for Luanda City in Angola
