LARK with her basic interests in things she doesn’t know very much about such as geology, weather and history. I wondered if any of those were a source of inspiration or was it the fact that she’s a homebody at heart. Noticing that LARK produces apparel as well as items for the home, I asked Sienia which she preferred to build. She was refreshingly honest. She considered that she lacked skills for the level of apparel she wanted to produce. She had a lot of ideas but also felt that the learning curve required to achieve a high level of competence in creating mesh for the avatar, rigging and allied arts, was challenging to say the least. Not wanting to release apparel she wouldn’t buy herself, she struggled with finding a balance.

Changing the subject, I asked her what was her favourite item for the home that she’d produced so far. She looked animated; undoubtedly we were getting onto her most favoured subject. The Haran Console! This piece, she felt, was ‘very her’. “I love that it feels as if it has a story to tell, it’s warm and inviting, not too fussy. It feels like something you might see in a very artsy BoHo hideaway. It’s probably the one piece I made that I feel I would use in my own decor and feel happy with it.” Digging a bit deeper, I wondered how she managed to keep her brand alive, keep it fresh and constantly in the public awareness.
