Alumni GaME

Some of the greatest players from the 1960s to the recent past put on purple and gold uniforms one more time during the 100th anniversary of LSU basketball weekend in a special alumni game on the floor of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center prior to the centennial game for the Tigers against Arkansas. A large crowd enjoyed seeing their Tiger heroes back on the court and the players enjoyed the chance to shine again. The White team won the game played at sometimes breakneck, sometimes crawling

pace, 91-76. In all, some 130 shots were taken, including 56 three-pointers. Former LSU basketball and baseball star Ben McDonald led the White team with 12 points, while Louis Earl scored 10 and Anthony Hudson had eight points. Clarence Ceasar led the Purple team with 12 points, while Duane Spencer. Big Stanley Roberts scored six points, including a monster dunk that nearly brought down the backboard in the final minute of play. Following the game the players gathered outside the Assembly Center for lunch, a

chance to sign autographs for the fans and take part in a special LSU Sports Radio Network broadcast from Tiger One Village.
