Service Work This spring the Loras College men’s basketball team volunteered their time to Camp Albrecht Acres in nearby Sherrill, Iowa. Albrecht Acres “provides a unique environment for people with special needs” in the tri-state area. Activities offered by Albrecht Acres include nature study, camping, fishing, swimming, dances, nature trails, hay rides, volleyball and disc golf. The Duhawks provided some manpower for the non-profit organization with a day full of maintenance and manual labor. The coaching staff and players worked mostly outdoors to clean up the wooded land and high traffic areas of the 40-acre campus. In one day’s work the team was able to once again help the appearance and function of Albrecht Acres so they may offer the best service they can to the people who utilize their services. “Coach and entire Duhawk team!
