LUNCHTIME CONCERTS AT MILTON COURT ECHO Rising Stars: outstanding young artists in the City’s newest venue ECHO Rising Stars – the series that helped shape the musical careers of many of today’s world class artists including Janine Jansen, Quirine Viersen and Jonathan Lemalu – comes to the Barbican this Autumn. Founded in 1995, the series presents recitals by young, exceptionally talented artists handpicked by the directors of Europe’s greatest concert halls, offering them the chance to perform programmes of their choosing at Europe’s most prestigious
concert venues. The series takes place in Milton Court, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s beautiful, new, state-of-the-art concert hall which is a great addition to the existing venues for classical music at the Barbican. Alongside the Barbican Hall, the church of St Giles’ Cripplegate and LSO St Luke’s, it will enable the Barbican to enhance its programme with concerts by smaller ensembles and young artists.
