London Miles Gallery presents an all new group exhibition, entitled The Idol Hours. Revisiting some of the most iconic paintings since the great Renaissance, The Idol Hours sees each of our forty New Contemporary artists recontextualize a historic and personally significant artwork from their own oblique 21st Century point of view. Thus we find Picasso's Guernica readdressed by Sergio Mora, Alex Young returning to the exquisite art nouveau of Mucha's Moet & Chandon Cremant Imperial, and Ken Keirns recreating Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo Da Vinci from 1490. Indeed from Seurat and Millet to Carvaggio and Vermeer, expect to revisit some of the world's best known and most influential paintings under the unforgiving and irreverent eye of a new generation of pop surrealists.
