Treat! Denton Humane Society throws a shindig for dogs

T

he Denton Humane Society is ready to celebrate man’s best friend from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Barktoberfest, a dog’s day out and a fundraiser for the local animal welfare nonprofit. The animal party for pooches returns to North Lakes Park, 2001 W. Windsor Drive. There is one perk this year: An anonymous donor has promised to match the money raised up to $5,000. All proceeds support animals in need in the city. The Denton Humane Society promotes education, advocacy and awareness of animal welfare needs in Denton, with emphasis on companion animals like dogs and cats. The
