Poet, comedian and broadcaster Ian McMillan conjures a brilliantly comic journey of rediscovery of some of the world’s great Lost and Forgotten writers, accompanied by musician Clare Salaman and the audience. With music devised and performed by Salaman, storytelling and a warm dollop of audience interaction the show centres around the ‘vulgar species’ that is man from the classic novel by almost forgotten writer G.V. Desani and his eccentric novel All About H Hatterr. McMillan presents The Verb every week on BBC Radio 3 and is a regular on BBC Radio 4’s Pick of the Week, Last Word, You & Yours and was recently castaway on Desert Island Discs.
