HANDBUILDING IN CLAY
SPRING VILLAGES
A lump of clay offers a whole new world of creative possibilities. Discover how slabs and coils become interesting shapes and forms. We’ll explore these new skills in handbuilding and learn decorative techniques using textures and colorful underglazes.
( 5 WEEKS ) Students will begin growing wheat-grass and other seeds the first day of class, and then build a small village of houses. On the final day of class we will celebrate our village created with our home-grown plants and ceramic houses. Friday 4-5:30pm

( 5 WEEKS ) We’ll be up to our elbows in gloriously messy creation! Work with paint, clay, and other goopy materials. We will be experimenting with many different handbuilding and paint application techniques as well as learning about different artists and art movements. Each session will focus on a different theme, so no two will be alike!

This class is a great opportunity to try your hand at clay. We will spend time learning the basic techniques of handbuilding, then move onto the wheel, while making great pots and unique sculpture! Thursday 4:30-6:30pm

SEW WHAT ( 5 WEEKS ) Come to our Sew What class and make a stuffed animal of your own design, small cozy blanket, and more! You will work at your own pace in a friendly, helpful atmosphere learning basic sewing skills or adding to your own. We’ll do some embroidery and appliqué and cover interests that come up in class. We have a lot of cool fabrics as well as many colors of soft fleece. All levels welcome. Friday 4-5:30pm
