Beginning in March 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau will invite households across the country to participate in the

2020 Census!

The U.S. Constitution mandates that every 10 years we count every person who lives in the United States. This year is the first digital census, which means you can respond online. Drop this link into your browser and watch the video to learn more about the census: www.census.gov

DOES FILLING OUT A CENSUS FORM IMPACT ME? YES IT DOES!

The distribution of more than $675 billion in federal funds, grants, and support to states, counties, and communities are based on census data. That money is spent on schools, hospitals, roads, public works, and other vital programs. • • •

3 WAYS TO RESPOND:

Fill out your form online. Request a paper form by calling the U.S. Census Bureau. Work with a certified Census representative to complete your form over-the phone.

IS CENSUS DATA CONFIDENTIAL?

Your answers are protected by law and are strictly confidential. It is illegal for the Census Bureau, or its employees to share your personal information with any other government agency. This includes law enforcement, government agents or immigration.

IT’S ABOUT REDISTRICTING

After each decade’s census, state officials redraw the boundaries of the congressional and state legislative districts in their states to account for population shifts. Taking part is your civic duty and this year 2020 will be easier than ever! In 2020, you will be able to respond to the census online. Completing the census is mandatory: it’s a way to participate in our democracy and say “I COUNT! April 1, 2020 is Census Day – Are You Ready? To learn more visit www.census.gov

EXPERTS PREDICT AN ADDITIONAL 3 MILLION PEOPLE WILL MOVE TO METRO ATLANTA BY THE YEAR 2040… AND THEY ALL CAN’T LIVE ON THE NORTH SIDE. Let that sink in... When I heard this last year, it forced me to see the abundance of opportunity we have here in South Fulton. For many, home is a word that evokes abstract things like dream home or emotions of comfort. For me, however, I equate home to wealth. Don’t let that turn you off, coming from a Realtor. The last Thursday of March 2017, my fiancé and I purchased a house, had a destination wedding on Sunday, and then came back to move on Wednesday. We’ve been turning our house into a home ever since. The memories, traditions and love we’ve created in our home are the most valuable things to me on this Earth. Here are a few other reasons why I think wealth when I think of home. My seller clients made over $811,000 in 2019. One client, a single mother burdened by the debt her ex-husband had left her with, made over $60,000. She became debt-free and was able to move her daughter to a school that had a program that met her unique educational needs. Making the right choices related to the place you call home can have a remarkable outcome on the things you value most. We can create wealth in our lives through responsible ownership of what we call home.

$4 million in MoneyBack Credits

$36 million in credits to the people we serve.

Why would a power company return more than $36 million to its customers in one year? GreyStone Power is a different kind of company. This not-for-profit electric cooperative is owned by the people it serves, called members. That means that while GreyStone is focused on providing safe, reliable, affordable electricity, it’s also focused on keeping rates low and service high.
