Page 7: But, I don’t have Adjustment Layers!!! You can achieve a similar effect in a variety of ways. Here is a thought I had and experimented with a little. Duplicate the “Right Stalk” layer, fill it with black and apply the layer mask. Bring the opacity down to about 50% and slap a new mask on it. Paint with varying size and opacity black brushes to bring out the 3D effect. A little less elegant but, with a little sweat and innovation, definitely serviceable.
