Posted a 6-6 record with three complete games over the course of the season ... 2012: In his rookie season with the Bulldogs, Maton posted an 8-5 record and a 2.93 ERA, the lowest of any Tech pitcher, in 89.0 IP and 12 starts (18 appearances) … Named to the 2012 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team … Named 2nd team all-state by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association … Led all Bulldog pitchers in wins (8), ERA (2.93), innings pitched (89.0) and opponent batting average (.237) … Notched his first career win at Arkansas-Little Rock (2/22) with one hit allowed, four strikeouts and zero runs given up in 4.0 innings of work … Recorded a season-high 11 strikeouts in 6.2 innings vs. Lamar (3/7) while giving up two hits and one run, leading Tech to an 8-1 victory over the Cardinals … One of Maton’s most impressive performances of the season came in one of the Bulldogs biggest wins as he pitched Tech to a 9-3 victory over 2011 College World Series participant Vanderbilt on February 29 in Nashville. Maton allowed only three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out eight in 7.0 innings of action … Named WAC Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 20-26.
