Entering the 2011 season, Louisiana Tech has four players that have already earned their undergraduate degrees from Louisiana Tech University. In addition, here is a list of players that will soon receive their degrees.

Entering the bowl game, Louisiana Tech has played in six one-possession games this year ranking fifth in the country. Utah State, Kansas State and Miami (Fla.) lead the nation with eight close games while San Jose State, Ohio State and Louisville have played in seven. Joining LA Tech with six close gamesplayed is Navy, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Central Florida. Stability Equals Success

Entering the 2011 season, Louisiana Tech was only one of 14 FBS schools (out of 120) to have not made a change on its coaching staff from the previous season. Of those 14 schools, 10 of those reached a bowl game during the 2010 season. As we wrap up the 2011 campaign, 11 of those 14 schools (including Louisiana Tech) will play in postseason bowl games.

This accomplishment of academic excellence is par for the course in Ruston as Tech has consis- Team tently proven itself as an academic institution of *Arkansas the highest regard, especially when it comes to Army student-athletes. *East Carolina Among Tech’s many laudable academic honors: ► Last year, Tech recorded its highest four-year graduation rate ever, ranking No. 1 in the state of Louisiana among FBS public institutions and second among WAC schools. ► Tech boasts one of the best retention rates (84.5) in the state of Louisiana, which tops the averages of both the LSU System (79.3) and the UL System (77.7). ► Tech has had more than 800 student-athletes earn Academic All-WAC honors since joining the league in 2001, including more than 80 this past year. ► Tech has the highest graduation rate (53.2%) in the UL System. ► Tech also saw eight of its 16 NCAA sanctioned programs record their highest multi-year APR rates ever while four of the programs registered their highest single year APR score ever. Three of the programs also earned a perfect 1,000 score on the single year rate. All 16 of Louisiana Tech’s NCAA sanctioned programs will be penalty free in 2011-12.
