GRAND LEDGE - The Grand Ledge First United Methodist Church , 411 Harrison St., is offering a special service, “The Longest Night” Friday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. This service recognizes that the Advent and Christmas season can be a painful time for some. It may be the first holiday without a loved family member or good friend. Everyone needs space and time to acknowledge sadness and concern, and to know that we are not alone. This is the reason for offering the special “Longest Night” service. It is a service of prayers, scripture and music that acknowledges God’s presence for those who mourn, for those who struggle – and that God’s word comes to shine light in the darkness.
