BREU HISTÒRIA DE PALAMÓS La història del poble comença quan el Rei Pere II el gran fundà Palamós al 1279 amb la Carta Pobla. Durant els anys la vila anà evolucionant i passaren segles d’assentament fins que arribat 1543 patí l’atac de l’estol del corsari Barba-Roja creant greus perjudicis al poble. No obstant, Palamós continuà endavant i lluitant durant el s.XIX s’alçà en el món del suro. La prosperitat econòmica dels anys obrí les portes a l’ampliació del port al 1902, factor que esdevingué clau pel futur econòmic del municipi. Entrat el s.XX, ja durant la Guerra Civil Palamós no quedà exclosa dels atacs al país essent objectiu de nombrosos bombardejos de la repressió franquista. Tot i així l’activitat i la força del poble no s’aturaren i actualment és el tercer port de Catalunya. El port pesquer presumeix d’una important rellevància fent que la vila gaudeixi de vida durant tot l’any, fet que propicia que el poble sigui bressol d’una gastronomia excel.lent d’ entre la que hi destaca el peix i la gamba.
