Es ist die Geschichte dreier Mütter, die sich mit der Unmöglichkeit konfrontiert sehen, das tragischste aller Ereignisse zu verstehen; das Verschwinden eines Kindes. In seinem Regiedebüt behandelt Ceatano Gotardo ein klassisches Melodrama unter einem besonderen Gesichtspunkt und auf originelle Art: Er verwebt die Handlung mit komischen und musikalischen Elementen, um von dem schweren Drama abzulenken, unter dem die Charaktere zu zerbrechen drohen. Dadurch übermittelt er den Kern des Films, nämlich den Weg der Charaktere zur persönlichen Entwicklung. Dies schafft er mit einer intelligenten Bescheidenheit und einer frischen Perspektive auf den Ensemblefilm.
Director’s Statement For me, it’s a film about families facing hard situations, but also a film about breathing, observing, moving, singing, thinking, sharing time with the characters and being in the present with them.
Dieser Film handelt von Familien, die sich in schwierigen Situationen befinden. Es ist aber auch ein Film über das Atmen, das Beobachten, die Bewegung, das Singen und das Denken. Ein Film, der mit den Charakteren Zeit verbringt und mit ihnen die Gegenwart teilt.
