The Dean’s Vision It is an honor for me to share with you news of the incredible progress being made at KU Libraries. As we embarked recently on a strategic planning process—engaging every level of the organization—our work was driven by one question: Given the changing landscape of higher education and the dynamic ambition of our institution, how must the libraries transform over the next five years? Out of this collective planning effort came a renewed vision and mission, as well as a strengthened resolve to serve the needs of today’s scholars. We envision KU Libraries to be a strategic institutional asset that develops and delivers new methods of creating and supporting knowledge resources. We will enrich teaching and learning, and fuel research at KU and worldwide. Our mission is to advance discovery, innovation and learning for KU, for the state of Kansas and for a rapidly expanding community of world scholars. We equip our students for a knowledge-driven, global society, and we support research and scholarly communication through collaborative opportunities at KU and beyond. I encourage you to reach out to us and learn more about the steps being taken to enhance KU Libraries’ position as an invaluable resource for the university and global research community.
