Under Roorbach, the Jayhawk outfielders continue to flourish. During the 2011 season, outfielder Maggie Hull led the team with a .346 average and 49 RBIs to earn All-Big 12 Second Team honors. As the hitting coach, Roorbach saw the Kansas lineup hit a program-best 60 homeruns in 2011 - nearly doubling the team’s home run total from the previous season. From his first season to his second at KU, the Jayhawks raised their team batting average by more than 40 points. Roorbach, who has spent five seasons as an assistant at the Division I level and four years as a head coach at the NAIA and junior college levels, joined the KU softball staff after working with Smith at LSU for two seasons as the director of softball operations and also served as Smith’s assistant at Western Carolina in 2006.

While at LSU, Roorbach directed all aspects of game video and team travel, coordinated camps and clinics, and worked with the Tigers’ booster club. Prior to LSU, Roorbach spent the 2007 season as an assistant coach at Houston. There he helped the Cougars to their first Conference USA regular season and tournament championship in school history, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004. After knocking off UL-Lafayette and Texas A&M, Houston advanced to the final day of competition at the College Station Regional before falling twice to the Aggies to end its season with a school record 44 wins.
