Why Choose Kirlin Ceramic Metal Halide? State of the Art Technology Kirlin’s Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH) represents state-of-the-art, point source, HID lighting technology. Ceramic arc tubes deliver significant improvements over traditional pulse start silica designs. These benefits allow CMH lamps to be more compact even as they accommodate higher density lamp chemistry (mercury, argon, and metal halide salts) and much higher operating temperatures, offering end users the following important advantages: Longer Life: Lamp and Luminaire Arc tube operating temperatures can exceed 1200° Kelvin, as the metal halide salts within the hot plasma become partly vaporized. In a traditional silica lamp these plasma gases can penetrate the arc tube wall, leading to material depletion, inconsistent performance and shorter life. Ceramic materials offer superior containment and operating stability throughout the plasma phase without the deleterious outcomes of silica lamps. And, when operated with electronic ballasts, CMH reliably delivers 12,000 to 15,000 hour lamp life. Kirlin then wraps this technology in an acrylic enameled, rustproof, all-aluminum housing, allowing electrical components to operate 5°C cooler ~ extending ballast life up to 50%! Constant Color and Consistent Lumen Output The same features that allow CMH lamps to achieve longer life also provide advantages in improved color and output consistency. The superior wattage and voltage control offered by electronic ballasts yields lamp starting and run-up characteristics which deliver improved lumen depreciation and color maintenance over the life of the lamp. CMH lamps provide up to 80% of initial lumen output near end of life, with color maintenance within ± 150° Kelvin. Increased Fixture Efficiency with Multiple SC Choices

Atlantis The Palm, Dubai, United Arab Emirates Lighting Designer: Craig Roberts Associates Kirlin Luminaires: HRR-06325 and HRR-07328

The strength of the ceramic arc tube allows for compact point sources, permitting precise optical designs and greater fixture efficiencies. Kirlin’s proprietary optics take advantage of this benefit, providing excellent performance across a wide variety of beam patterns. Spacing Criteria (SC) can range from 0.1 to 1.4, giving the designer a complete palette to create a variety of effects. And with their improved chemistry and compact size, CMH systems achieve some of the highest luminaire efficacies available…up to 117 LPW.

High Color Rendering and Warmer Color Sparkling, crisp, white light… The higher density and improved chemistry in CMH lamps results in dramatically improved color rendering, with CRIs into the mid 90’s. In addition, CMH offers a comfortable range of CCTs from warm 3000° to cooler 4200° Kelvin. Quiet Operation All Kirlin CMH electronic ballasted luminaires maintain a sound class rating of “A” (<24 dB), ensuring they may be installed with confidence in the most demanding quiet environments. Environmental Sustainability Lighting accounts for nearly 20% of our annual energy usage. So why not take advantage of Kirlin CMH systems that offer higher efficacy, longer life, and superior performance compared with traditional metal halide systems? CMH permits fewer fixtures and/or lower wattages, saving watts per square foot – and that’s good for the environment. Kirlin luminaires are built to last but are also fully sustainable and upgradeable over time. As technology improves, so can your lighting system. That’s great for our environment – and the owner’s pocketbook! Great color, superior color rendering, fewer lamp replacements, consistent performance and lower energy usage makes Ceramic Metal Halide designs by Kirlin the perfect choice. Doesn’t every customer deserve great performance and the lowest total cost of ownership?
