Andrew Atkinson ATKINSON, Andrew Burton, 95, of Enfield, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014. He was a lifelong King William County resident, son of the late Franklin Carter Atkinson and Mary Hilda Schools. He is survived by his beloved wife of 75 years, Dorothy Adams Atkinson; two daug ht e r s , ValJean A. Davenport a n d Nancy Atkinson E. Edwards; and a devoted son-inlaw, Butch Davenport. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Wayne Davenport (Alice), Catherine Davenport Barlow (Keith), Gregory Jobb (Michelle), Victor Jobb (Donna); seven great-grandchildren, April Davenport Castlebury, Morgan Rudd, Claire Barlow, Justin Jobb (Betthanie), Nathan Jobb, Victor and Victoria Jobb; two

great-great-grandchildren, Cash Castlebury and Kyllie Jobb; his siblings, Dorothy Wooddy, Helen Crouch, Mary Davis, F.C. Atkinson Jr. (Vina); and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Robbie Atkinson; and son-in-law, William H. Edwards III, a Henrico County police motorcycle officer who died in the line of duty. Mr. Atkinson lived on his farm called Pinetop which is half of Seven Springs, one of King William County’s historic estates. Burton Atkinson served on the Board of Directors of Southern States in Richmond for three years as well as on the Southern States local board in King William County. He served on the Board of Zoning Appeals for King William for five years. He was the founder, President and CEO of Country Home Building Corporation and built many houses in King William. He was the oldest member of the King William Ruritan Club being a member for over 70 years and served as their Treasurer for seven years. He also served as President and Treasurer of the National Farmers Organization of King William County. He served

as Crop Surveyor for the ASC Office in King William. He was an enthusiastic businessman with many successful businesses such as auto repair, logging, saw milling, farming and building. Burton found his greatest happiness in the love of his family and friends. He built each of his four grandchildren a house on his property and gave to them so they could be nearby. He had many hobbies, but his greatest were hunting and fishing. He joined Corinth Christian Church at 20 years old and remained a member until his death, serving as Deacon and Elder for over 60 years. He was a member of the choir and played the guitar and sang solos as well as duets with his wife, Dorothy. He loved playing music and played all kinds of instruments. He will be remembered by all for his generous, loving spirit. The family received friends on Tuesday, May 27 at B.W. White Funeral Home, Aylett. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 28 at Corinth Christian Church with interment following in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Corinth Christian Church at 9153 Dabney’s Mill Rd., Manquin, VA 23106.

KENNY, Mr. William, 68, of Aylett, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville. A viewing was held at March Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Monday, May 5, followed by a celebration of life. Interment followed at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1995 Globe Rd., Aylett, Va. 23009. Thomas Mitchell MITCHELL, Thomas Nelson “Tommy,” 83, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Walkerton, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Mitchell; parents, Herndon and Irene Mitchell; and sister, Doris Rae Clark. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Mitchell; son, Wayne Mitchell and wife, Melanie; daughters, Tricia Reed and husband, Jeff, and Pamela Ashley and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Brian Ashley and wife, Kara, Brooke Reed, Taylor Ashley, Amber Ashley and Skylar Ashley; two greatgrandsons, Chandler and Will Ashley; and brother, Eldridge Mitchell. The family received friends on May 7 at B.W. White Funeral Home, 7837 Richmond Tappahannock Hwy., Aylett, where services were held on May 8. Interment was in Mizpah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Rosa Mae Scott SCOTT, Rosa Mae Cauthorne, 91, of King William, widow of Raymond W. Scott Sr., passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. She is survived by five children, 12 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren and one brother. A viewing and celebration of life were held Friday, May 23, at the Union Hope Baptist Church, King William. Interment in the church cemetery. Service of comfort was provided by the J.K. Redmond Funeral Home.

Robert Snow SNOW, Robert Ray “Skip,” of King William, went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2013, after a brave battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn

Marshall and William B. Snow Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Snow; his son, T i m o t h y Snow; stepmother, Shirley Snow; f o u r stepchilSnow dren, Ta m m y Clatterbuck (Evan), Wayne Newman (Sheryl), Frankie Newman (Shelly) and Roger Jones; one brother, William B. Snow III; two sisters, Debbie Snow (Ed West) and Sherry Wilson; and seven grandchildren. He was employed by FLSA. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Helen Wenix WENIX, Helen Rose, 101, of Aylett, died on Saturday, May 24, 2014. She was the widow of Joseph Wenix and Stanley Krzak and was also preceded in death by her children, Wilma Smallwood and Stanley Krzak. She was the longest survivor of six generations. Helen leaves behind many loving survivors including her sons, John Krzak (Cathy) and Joe Krzak (Linda); daughters, Margaret Johnson (Doug), Eleanor Hayes (John) and Libby Fletcher (Gary); and a sister, Julia Davis; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family received friends and held a Rosary service Tuesday, May 27, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. A

Edward White WHITE, Edward Frank, 64, formerly of King William County, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at his home in Henrico. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Pierce White; and parents, William Edward and Mary Hodges White. Frank was born September 6, 1949 and graduated from King William High School in 1969. He is survived by his sons, Tony (Michelle) and their daught e r , Brittany, Zachary, a n d Joshua (Liz) and their son, Au s t i n ; sisters, DiAnne White White of King William and Marian White Gulasky (Wayne) of Mechanicsville; nephew, Leonard Griffin Gulasky and children, Kodie, Conner and Madison; six stepchildren, one special, Michael Balsom; many other family members and friends. A graveside service was held Sunday, May 18, in Hanover Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
