Art Night Maubila Art Collektive Tribal War The art tribe has split down the middle, boys vs. girls in it’s first ever tribal war. “Tribe” is the inspiration and idea that must be interpreted for the art being made live. The Maubilans have 3 hours to complete the work which will be made on site. Maubila is an art collective in Tuscaloosa, Alabama made of local artists who strive to advance the art/music/performance scene by collaborating with artists from all mediums in all areas from around the world. The Maubilan’s took their name in honor of Chief Tuskaloosa’s tribe.

Featured Clay Place Artists Fred Mitchell After serving Air Force tours in Germany and Thailand, retiring from teaching in Jefferson County, then working as an X-Ray tech; it has been my pleasure to come back home and find such a flourishing art town. I began to make pottery around 2002 because I was drawn by the surprise factor of opening the kiln and the pure fun of playing with mud. My pottery is both functional and unique - no two pieces alike. Pottery-making has given me lots of enjoyment. It keeps me centered. The Old Guy in the Overalls

Jim Whitbeck Jim joined the Kentuck Clay Co-op in March of 2013. Shown below are some of his exquisite miniature owl sculptures.
