Interviewed over a span of twenty years, The Grunschlag Sisters share the struggles they faced throughout a German-occupied Austria, 'Kristallnacht,' the dramatic escape to england months later, and their eventual rise to stardom as a piano duo in venues throughout new York and the world. Ultimately, Toni and Rosi share moments from their final concert together. In their eighties, they returned to perform for thousands in Vienna, the city they were forced to flee 67 years earlier. TonI AnD RoSI documents two lives saved by music and lived through music. Their story has a resonance for today and for all time. Rosi Grunschlag in an address to a group of young Austrians: “It was always the Jew that was blamed, persecuted when there was an epidemic, a bad harvest... He has performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, new York City’s Town Hall, and Feinstein’s at The Regency Hotel. Presently, he tours America with his show, “CRoon.” Will Wyatt CBe, worked as journalist, producer and executive at the BBC, where he was Head of Documentaries and Features, Managing Director Television, and Chief executive Broadcast, responsible for the BBC’s UK television, radio and internet, VP of the european Broadcasting Union, President of the Royal Television Society, and was chairman of the University of the Arts London. Will is currently chairman of Racecourse Media Group, a director of Vitec Group plc. and chairman of the Teaching Awards Trust.

This is the true storyWORLD of one of thePREMIERES most audacious and heroic rescue attempts, which occurred on April 19, 1943, the first night of Passover, at the same time that the Warsaw Ghetto uprising began. on that night, Transport XX departed Mechelen, Belgium at 10 p.m. with 1631, Jewish men, women and children for Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Half an hour later, it was stopped by three young Belgians armed with only 1 pistol, pliers and a hurricane lamp. The only documented attack on a death train during the Shoah. What happened leading up to, during and after this audacious rescue attempt are featured with archival footage and survivor interviews.
