John Tudor will be remembered as one of the games best pitchers in the 80’s, playing for the Red Sox, Pirates, Dodgers, and the Cardinals. He was a master of control, allowing only 475 walks in nearly 1800 innings pitched. In 1980 John Tudor went 8-5 with a 3.03 ERA and didn’t have a losing record the rest of the 80’s. Tudor experienced his greatest season in 1985, with the St. Louis Cardinals, winning 20 out of his 21 decisions.

Tudor finished his 1985 season at 21-8 with a 1.93 ERA and led the National League in 10 shutouts. In 1987 he continued his wonderful performance by going 13-7 with a 2.92 ERA. In mid-August of 1988, Tudor began playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he remained until the 1990 season. Tudor finished his career with the Cardinals.
