Thursday, Feb. 13: Evening Classroom Session Saturday, Feb. 15: Field Experience CSU, Chico Student $40 | Faculty/Staff $45 | General $50 Join AO for a clinic on how to travel safely in avalanche terrain. Thursday evening will be spent in the classroom learning the basics of snowpack evaluation, avalanche danger factors, and backcountry decision-making. Saturday will be spent applying the classroom lessons in the winter environment at Lassen.

AO is excited to offer you a chance to backpack in this exotic location.

Shasta Backcountry Skiing/Riding Saturday, March 8 - Sunday, March 9 CSU, Chico Student $85 | Faculty/Staff $95 | General $105 Let AO introduce you to backcountry skiing/riding in the beautiful California Cascades. We will cover topics that include use of skins, how to lay a skin track, and safe route/line selection. We will be skiing/riding intermediate terrain—not steep, avalanche-prone slopes. Online registration is not available for this trip; see AO Office to register. *Participants must be able to ski/ride in powder, on icy snow, and on variable conditions and should be in good physical condition.*

This hike will traverse Table Mountain to an amazing viewpoint of the falls, which are typically running at a good flow in early spring.

Join us as we take in the beautiful scenery on this three-day backpacking trip and hope to catch a glimpse of the large, hairy, humanlike creature.

Wilderness First Responder Course Friday, May 30 – Sunday, June 8 CSU, Chico Student $690 | General $740 Designed specifically for outdoor professionals, this course provides you with the tools to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations. This course is taught by the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS. Class will run approximately 8 a.m.–5 p.m. daily with one evening scenario and one day off in the middle of course.
