Mizzou won its fifth-straight season opener, with a 2-1 win over Northwestern ... the Tigers defeated two Top 25 teams, taking victories over then No. 23 Colorado and then No. 6 Texas A&M ... the win over Texas A&M was also the first time that MU had defeated the Aggies in College Station, Texas ... Jennifer Nobis led the team with nine goals and 21 points ... Laura Buehrig started 18 of the 20 games in goal and finished the year with 71 saves and a 1.64 goals against average ... defenders Ashley Gibbs, Lauren Grice and Erica Pusch, midfielder Elyse Nikonchuk and forward Jennifer Nobis were all named to the All-Big 12 Conference second team ... Seven Tigers (Karen Bauer, Lauren Grice, Kristen Heil, Aria Hudetz, Meggie Malm, Lacy Moore and Erica Pusch) were named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team ... Bauer was named to the College Sports Information Director’s of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District and Academic All-America teams for the second-straight season ... Nobis and Nikonchuk were also named to the SoccerBuzz All-Central Region third team.

Junior Elyse Nikconchuk earned All-Big 12 Conference second team honors for the second consecutive season ... senior Jennifer Nobis set a new Missouri single-season record for assists in a season with 14 and ranked sixth nationally with 0.78 assists per game. She also tied the record for game-winning assists in a season with five ... the 1,774 fans who watched Missouri take on Oklahoma on Oct. 7 marked the second-largest crowd to attend a Tiger soccer match at Audrey J. Walton Stadium ... senior Amber Swinehart tallied six game-winning goals on the year to tie the single-season record and lead the Big 12 in that category ... sophomore Laura Buehrig posted five shutouts, including a 0-0 double-overtime tie against No. 17 California, to tie Mizzou’s single-season record ... Missouri broke into the Soccer Buzz National Top 30 Poll with a No. 29 ranking on Sept. 26, which marked the first time since 2000 that the Tigers were ranked in Soccer Buzz’s Top 30 ... Buehrig and freshmen Mo Redmond and Kat Tarr were named Big 12 Players of the Week in 2005 ... Malm and junior Lauren Grice were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District teams in 2005. Malm was a first team selection while Grice earned second team honors ... seven Tigers earned Academic All-Big 12 honors as Buehrig, Grice, Malm, Erica Pusch and Kira Reyes were named to the second team and Aria Hudetz and Amber Swinehart were second team selections.
