Director of Performance Analysis First Season at Mizzou University Campus Suffolk (2012)
Barbara Maningat enters her second year as the Mizzou soccer team’s Director of Multimedia. With the Tigers, Maningat oversees the team’s social media, video and branding efforts and assists with media relations duties. She has made the program’s twitter account, @MizzouSoccer, one of the top women’s soccer accounts in the nation and ranked first among all Southeastern Conference teams in number of followers. Since she began in 2012, she has increased the team’s Twitter and Facebook following by 61 percent and 29 percent, respectively. In addition to her work with the soccer program, Maningat also does marketing for Newsy Videos and is a MU Journalism Ambassador. At Newsy, she manages the social media accounts and previously worked as a reporter. Previously, Maningat served as The England Football Association’s first-ever intern with its video productions division FATV in London, UK. She has also spent time with MLS team Sporting Kansas City where she produced broadcast video packages for the Sporting KC Network and freelanced for the Fox Soccer Channel. A Platte City, Mo., native, Maningat graduated with honors from Mizzou with a bachelor of journalism with an emphasis in convergence journalism and minor in business in 2012. She is working toward a master of journalism in strategic communication.
Sam Lawson enters his first season at Mizzou as the Director of Performance Analysis. With the Tigers, Lawson handles game and practice film and coordinating video exchange. Lawson comes to Mizzou from New Zealand, where he served as Performance Analysis for the Napier City Rovers of the Central Premier League. Wtih the Rovers, he provided game and post-match analysis for players and coaches. He also spent time as a Performance Analyst with Hawkes Bay United in Napier, New Zealand from December 2012 - March 2013. Before his move to New Zealand, Lawson worked as the Academy Video Analyst at the Ipswich Town Football Club in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. Lawson spent the first 16 years of his life in Germany before moving to the United Kingdom in 2007. He earned a degree in Sport and Exercise Science from University Campus Suffolk in 2012 and is working towards a master’s degree at Mizzou.
