The Big 12 Conference has established a consistent level of national success on the field and in the classroom as it enters its 14th season in 2009-10. Kansas State continues to leave an indelible stamp on the Big 12 Conference, which has developed a reputation as one of, if not the premiere football conference in the nation. A conference title, multiple bowl games, All-Americans and national award winners are just a few reasons why K-State is among the elite in the Big 12 Conference and in college football. Since the league’s formation and under Bill Snyder’s leadership, Kansas State has made three appearances in the league’s championship game. That figure ranks as the third-most all time in the Big 12. The Wildcats also rank fourth overall in Big 12 conference victories with 62. In league road games, Kansas State has totaled 26 wins. Only Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska have claimed more victories in enemy stadiums than the Wildcats. On the postseason bowl circuit, Kansas State’s nine bowl appearances since the league’s formation also rank among the Big 12 leaders, with only two programs claiming more bowl berths than the Wildcats. Individually, Kansas State has been well represented among the conference’s postseason award winners. Since 1996, 71 different Wildcats have received first, second or third-team all-conference recognition from either the league’s coaches or the Associated Press. K-State has also produced three Defensive Players of the Year, eight Newcomers of the Year (five defense/three offense) and three Defensive Freshmen of the Year.

K-State ranks near the top of the Big 12 in league games won, road wins and championship game appearances
